- Destiny. Jackson is a 5’5 PG from the Illinois Elite 15u Gold. She is a 2025 player that is playing up and she showed why on the first day. Destiny uses her handles and quickness to get anywhere she wants on the floor. She can consistently find ways to finish over and around her older and bigger opponents. Destiny had 23 points in this game.
- Morgan Roberts Morgan Roberts 6'0" | SF Fishers | 2024 State IN is a long 5’10 2024 wing from Indiana Showcase. She is an excellent left handed shooter that drained 4 three-pointers on her way to 16 points in her opening game. Morgan handles the ball well, keeps it moving against the zone defense and is patient. Once she sees an opportunity she is ready to shoot and when she does the form and touch are very good.
- Caitlyn Leyden is a 5’10 2025 wing from the Force MW 15u team. Caitlyn did a very good job Friday night of attacking the rim. She had numerous straight line drives to the rim. Caitlyn was equally willing to go to her left and right hand. She did not always finish at the rim but she did not shy away from contact.
- Trinity Chears Trinity Chears 5'5" | PG Example Academy | 2024 IL is a 5’4 2024 Point Guard from Lady Meanstreets Green and Thornwood. Trinity had an excellent game controlling the pace and running the offense. In the first half she was focused more on scoring and had 10 points. In the second half Trinity was more focused on pulling the Fusion Academy team out of their zone and forcing them to guard one on one. She set up teammates for shots and controlled the tempo by doing this.Trinity finished with 12 points despite struggling from the free throw line.
- Caitlin Washington Caitlin Washington 5'8" | PG Neuqua Valley | 2024 State IL is a 5’8 2024 Point Guard from Example Sports 2024 UAA. She is a long and talented point guard that can cause damage in multiple ways on the court. Caitlin had 17 points in an easy opening game victory. In this game Caitlin did most of her damage inside the 3-point line but has the range to consistently hit the deep shots.
- Hannah Kenney is a 5’7 2025 wing for the Force MW. Hannah was a nice surprise in this game and a great example of hustle and effort paying off. The reason I say she was a surprise is that nothing jumped out about her early but as the game progressed her toughness and ability to crash the boards started to show up. Hannah had 14 points, most of them off rebounds on the offensive boards. In addition Hannah got to many loose balls and ran the floor hard.
- Olivia Patton Olivia Patton 6'0" | PF Normal Community West | 2024 IL is a 6’0 Post from Fusion Basketball Academy and Normal U high school. Olivia a very strong post that does a good job in the high post. Right now she needs a little space to operate effectively. When she has that space Olivia is a very good passer and shooter. When she is in the low post and crowded Olivia has a tendency to just try to back her opponent down. Sometimes that works but it often leads to and offensive foul and a lesson for her. Olivia has potential but she will have to work hard to expand her game and increase her fitness levels.
Day two should be even more exciting for the 15u group as the top teams battle out to show who is the best. An opening game pitting Example Sports UAA vs Illinois Elite 15u Gold is going to an important game.
