The same names mentioned in the first posts could essentially be mentioned again, but we want our audience to get acquainted with as many prospects as possible.
United Sports Academy 2022 was a team that was fun to watch with how they played together and the talent the team possessed. They seemed to share and move the ball and get up and down the court. So this post is loaded with three of their prospects, as PGH saw a couple of their full games.
Another program that PGH wanted to monitor on day two was the Nebraska Lasers Supreme Gold 2023 team. There’s a lot to like about their prospects and we’ll dive into a couple of them below, with more to come in future posts.
Emily Dreckman Emily Dreckman 5'10" | SF MMRCU | 2022 State IA – (5’10/SG/2022) – United Sports Academy 2022 – MMRCU (Iowa) – Emily showed her talents to their fullest ability on day two. She showed an impressive two-way ability, with her solid and sound on-ball defense and aggressive offensive play. She was hitting threes and taking it to the rack. She wasn’t putting on major defensive pressure but was sound and quick laterally. Emily has good overall movement ability and is a fluid athlete, as well as a skilled prospect. She scored 17 points in their matchup against Air Minnesota 2022.
Lexi Pingel – (5’8/Wing/2022) – United Sports Academy 2022 – Washington (Iowa) – Lexi was a PGH favorite all day and in the tournament. Day two helped me realize that. She’s very athletic and attacks the rim with authority and purpose. She’s a competitor in every sense of the word. She can hit an open jumper and has a complete offensive game, with an attack off-the-dribble mindset first. She puts heavy defensive pressure on the wing and sits in a low stance and mirrors the ball aggressively. There’s a lot to like to like about Lexi’s game and her demeanor on the court.
Jordyn Carr Jordyn Carr 5'6" | PG Tri County Northeast | 2022 State NE – (5’6/PG/2022) – United Sports Academy 2022 – Tri County Northeast (Nebraska) – Jordyn is a skilled point guard in all facets; ball handling, passing, scoring, shooting. She was exceptionally aggressive in their matchup vs CY Select 2022, finishing with a team-high 15 points. She plays wells in the open court and plays best with the ball in her hands, making plays. Alyssa Fortik Alyssa Fortik 5'3" | PG Malcolm | 2023 State NE – (5’3/PG/2023) – Nebraska Lasers Supreme Gold 2023 – Malcolm (Nebraska) – Alyssa showed a poise and confidence in the Lasers matchup against Nebraska Hoops Elite. Not to mention, that she has a combination of being one of the best ball-handlers and had one of the smoothest strokes from three in the entire event. She has the ball on a string and range from deep. If you give her time to set and line up her shot, it’s a good bet to drop. She knocked down multiple threes for 15 points vs Nebraska Hoops Elite.
Makenna Lesiak Makenna Lesiak 5'9" | SF Pius X | 2023 State NE – (5’9/Wing/2023) – Nebraska Laser Supreme Gold 2023 – Pius X (Nebraska) – Makenna isn’t physically imposing by first glance, but she plays with a tough-nosed, competitive style of play. Still has some solid length at 5’9 and room to become a stronger prospect with her frame. So, there is definitely upside with Makenna. As far as her game goes, she’s highly efficient going in a straight-line drive and scores well in the painted area. Makenna plays with a high motor and moves well without the ball. She finished with 13 points in the game I saw vs Nebraska Hoops Elite. Defensively, she’s very sound and alert, knowing ball and man at all times. Makenna could possibly have been one of the most underrated prospects in the tournament.
