“The point guard position is a very valuable position in the game of basketball. A great point guard must be able to handle the ball with ease and confidence. Taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers is their first and main priority. The point guard should be a leader and know and understand a team and it’s goals each possession more than anyone else on the team. Knowing time and score is crucial and determines how a point guard proceeds in game action. A point guard that can make open shots and score is very valuable as well. A complete point guard is hard to come by.”
Britt Prince Britt Prince 5'11" | PG Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE – (PG/5’10/2024 – Elkhorn North (Nebraska) – Britt is one of those complete point guards — at a young age. As to why she’s a nationally recognized prospect. It’s hard to find a hole or weakness in her game. Ball-handling, three-ball, off-the-dribble, complete offensive game — you name it. Britt was added to the PGH Nebraska database and will be ranked in the future. FYI, she’ll be towards the top.
Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA – (5’7/PG 2023) – CY Select Wolves 2022 Alpha – Bishop Garrigan (Iowa) – #7 ranked Iowa 2023 –
Molly is a little smaller for such a highly rated prospect, but she also may be one of the most skilled point guards in the nation and that off-sets her size a great deal. She controls the tempo with the best of them and she’s very hard to contain with her handles, pump-fake game, and her three-point ability. She has nearly perfected her floater-game as well. Defensively, her anticipatory skills are highly impressive. Molly put up some big statistical numbers for Bishop Garrigan, with 17.7 ppg. 3.8 apg. and 4 stls. Molly can step on the court with anyone in my opinion.
Inia Jones Inia Jones 5'7" | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE – (5’6/PG/2024) – Nebraska Hoops Elite – Omaha Central – Inia, selected to the 15U All-Tournament team, was a problem for defenses. With her attacking mind-set, you could only try to contain her. She was going to get hers. Not mentioned yet, her high school season stats at Omaha Central were 12.6 ppg.,4.3 apg., 4.4 rpg, and 2.2 stls. So some great all-around production in all categories.
Jordyn Carr Jordyn Carr 5'6" | PG Tri County Northeast | 2022 State NE – (5’6/PG/2022) – United Sports Academy 2022 – Tri County Northeast (Nebraska) – #12 ranked Nebraska 2022 – Jordyn is a complete point guard by her all-around skill-set. She’s a scoring point guard in that she averaged 18.6 points per game in her junior season. Also made a ton of defensive plays with an average 6.4 steals per game with games of 13 and 14 total steals! If she improves her shooting efficiency in her senior season she could put up some major scoring numbers.
Karsen Jacks Karsen Jacks 5'5" | PG Ankeny | 2024 State IA – (5’6-5’7/PG/2024) – CY Select Wolves Alpha II – Ankeny (Iowa) – Iowa 2024 Watchlist – Karsen is a very solid, skilled guard for a 2024, with some great upside. Has a solid handle on the ball and will attack a back-peddling defender. A next-level guard that college programs definitely need to monitor. Had a productive varsity season for Ankey, starting all but one game, shooting 37% from three for an average of 5.1 points per game.
Taylor Luben Taylor Luben 5'6" | PG Wahoo | 2022 State NE – (5’5/PG/2022) – Nebraska Attack 2022 Select Black – Wahoo (Nebraska) – Taylor is what you’re looking for if you’re looking for a distributing point guard that also a threat and plays solid D. An excellent team defender and on-ball defender that gives the adequate amount of ball pressure and room. Great at driving and kicking to open shooters. Her best asset might be her basketball IQ and playing point guard to a tee. She’s not going to hurt your team, only help.
Alyssa Fortik Alyssa Fortik 5'3" | PG Malcolm | 2023 State NE – (5’3/PG/2023) – Nebraska Lasers Supreme 2023 Gold – Malcolm (Nebraska) – One of the best three-point shooters in the tournament, if not the best overall. A perfect-looking release that is highly accurate every shot. Her misses her good misses.
Kennadi Williams Kennadi Williams 5'7" | PG Lincoln Southwest | 2024 State NE – (5’5-5’6/PG/2024) – Elite Basketball 2024 – Lincoln Southwest (Nebraska) – Kennadi is what you’re looking for in a point guard from an IQ, skill, demeanor, and playing style standpoint. She pushes the ball and makes great decisions with the ball for her team all game.
Aaliyah Riley Aaliyah Riley 5'7" | PG Johnston | 2024 State IA – (5’7/PG/2024) – CY Select Wolves 2023 Alpha – Johnston (Iowa) – PGH hasn’t mentioned Aaliyah’s high school season yet, but for Johnston, Aaliyah had an outstanding and efficient Freshman season based on upon her stats. She was 48.1% from the field for an average of 7.6 ppg.
Jayla Wilson Jayla Wilson 5'8" | PG Bellevue East | 2025 State NE – (5’8/PG/2025) – Team Factory 2025 National – Bellevue East (Nebraska) – A sized, compact, quick, fast, strong point guard, Jayla is. She has some real potential as she’s an already skilled 5’8 guard that can attack, score, and dish.
Quinn Grubbs Quinn Grubbs 5'5" | PG Exira EHK | 2023 State IA – (5’5/PG/2023) – CY Select Wolves 2023 Alpha – Exira-Ehk (Iowa) – #60 ranked Iowa 2023 – Quinn is a steady lefty point guard. Had a huge season for Exira-EHK in her Sophomore season. She poured in 406 total points (16.2 ppg) 38.2% from three and swiped 3.4 steals. Quinn was also named to the Class 1A All-Tournament team, with 25 points in their opening matchup.
Addison Klahn Addison Klahn 5'8" | CG Millard West | 2023 State NE – (5’8/PG/2023) – Omaha Sports Academy 2023 National Hall – Millard West (Nebraska) – Addison is a lefty guard that was recognized as a top performer day one when she scored 19 points. She’s aggressive and will take any opportunity given to her. So the defender matched-up on her needs to be alert as she attacks off-the-bounce and shoots the three. Though aggressive, she also moves the ball well and passes to her teammates on-target and with some good zip and speed. Defensively, she is in attack mode as well, trying to make plays and cause turnovers in any way.
Taylor Markussen Taylor Markussen 5'2" | PG Northwest | 2023 State NE – (5’2/PG/2023) – Nebraska Hoops Elite – Northwest (Nebraska) – A shorter point guard but had one of the best combination of handles and quickness. Quickness on both ends of the court, as defensively she could slide with ease and cut-off attacking ball-handlers. Added to the prospect database.
Riley Batta Riley Batta 5'10" | PF South Central Calhoun | 2023 State IA – (5’10/PG/2023) – United Sports Academy 2023 – South Central Calhoun (Iowa) – #21 Ranked Iowa 2023 – Riley made the All-Length team as a long point guard with a muscular build. I scanned through some of her high school film and she played inside as a power forward. But it looks as though United Sports Academy is trying to turn her into a legitimate prospect by translating her into a big, skilled, point guard. And I don’t disagree with this one bit. She had an outstanding Sophomore campaign with 15.7 ppg., 5.8 rpg., 1.9 stls., and a 49.1% field goal percentage.
