While a lot of the top prospects in 2022 are 6-0 or taller, I think the guard crop is somewhat overlooked and underappreciated in this class. Our Top-200 is home to 46 2-guard prospects who make up 23.0% of all 2022 prospects ranked in Indiana. There are a lot of talented shooters/scorers in this group, but there are also some ladies who can handle the ball and run offense from time to time. There are several really nice small college foundation pieces as well. Below is a look at those 46 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in December.

Newcomers
Our Spring rankings update isn’t a big time for new additions to the current Junior class, but while we didn’t expand from 200 prospects, there were three 2-guards added due to a couple of openings on the list. Tynlie Neal Tynlie Neal 5'6" | CG Clinton Prairie | 2022 State IN of Clinton Prairie is a tough-nosed combo guard with a nice motor. Alyvia Santiago Alyvia Santiago 5'8" | SG Crown Point | 2022 State IN of Crown Point is a really nice athlete with a knack for the defensive end of the floor. And Jordan Coon Jordan Coon 5'7" | SG Castle | 2022 State IN of Castle is a skillful shooter/scorer who can also handle it a little when necessary.
Stock-Risers
London Brooks London Brooks 5'6" | SG Ben Davis | 2022 State IN , Ben Davis H.S. – I first saw London in the Spring of her Freshman year, but I thought she was more of a forward at that time. Watching her again this past Fall, she was a playmaking guard with a solid handle, creativity, and good vision. She can score it a little as well. I think she’s still under the radar.
Dakotah Krohn Dakotah Krohn 5'7" | SG Woodlan | 2022 State IN , Woodlan H.S. – Dakotah has a nice, strong, athletic frame, and she plays with a good motor. She has some touch around the perimeter, plus she can drive it North/South to the rim and absorb contact. She rebounds her position well, and she plays with a good overall basketball IQ.
Tori Smiley Tori Smiley 5'7" | CG Lawrence Central | 2022 State IN , Lawrence Central H.S. – Tori has always possessed athletic talent, but as she’s gotten older, her skillset and her understanding of the game have grown a great deal. She is still a dynamic, athletic playmaker, but she’s playing much more efficiently. She can attack or hit shots outside, plus she can defend.
Alexis Wines Alexis Wines 5'6" | CG Lebanon | 2022 State IN , Lebanon H.S. – Alexis is one of the scrappiest, toughest, high-motor kids in this class. She takes what she possesses physically and gets the most out of it. She had a nice Winter for Lebanon, and she can handle it some, knock down shots, or attack the basket, plus she’ll defend and rebound.
Ella Wolfe Ella Wolfe 5'8" | SG Tipton | 2022 State IN , Tipton H.S. – Ella has been a nice basketball player and a talent for years, but Tipton’s run to the Class 2A title game really helped her visibility. She is a wiry strong, fast, and somewhat bouncy lefty. She can smoothly knock down shots outside, attack the basket and finish, plus she’s a high-level defender.
Keep an eye on…
Gloria Brewer Gloria Brewer 5'7" | SG Greencastle | 2023 State IN , Homeschooled – Gloria has put up outstanding numbers on the Homeschool circuit for years, but she is finally playing grassroots ball, so I’m anxious to see her consistently play against some of the Midwest’s best prospects. She is a tough kid, a high-level shooter/scorer, and she plays with a nice motor.
Le’Aije Ellington Le’Aije Ellington 5'6" | SG Warren Central | 2022 State IN , Warren Central H.S. – Le’Aije is one of the best athletes in the 2022 class, and she kind of has that track star look on a basketball floor. She has some length, but it’s her speed, quickness, and bounce that make her stand out. I have the feeling she will catch the eye of several colleges this Summer.
Hope Fox Hope Fox 5'7" | CG East Central | 2022 State IN , East Central H.S. – Hope got off to a great start this Winter, scoring 29 points on 11-15 shooting against a tough, Division-I backcourt in Heritage Christian. She has some length, she can make shots at all levels, plus she can handle to create or run offense. She is just a do-everything guard with a nice motor.
Makayla Hinshaw Makayla Hinshaw 5'8" | SG Hamilton Southeastern | 2022 State IN , Hamilton Southeastern H.S. – Makayla finished a strong Summer in 2020 by earning a Division-I Horizon League offer. She then was a key starter for a balanced and very good HSE team over the Winter. She is a nice athlete, with some length, and she is a high-level on-ball defender.
Tynlie Neal Tynlie Neal 5'6" | CG Clinton Prairie | 2022 State IN , Clinton Prairie H.S. – When I saw Tynlie a couple of years ago, she was a nice perimeter shooter with a good understanding of the game. Now, she’s more of a ball-handler, she can still shoot it, but she’s looking to run/create offense more. She is tough-nosed, physical, and she plays extremely hard.
