This wing class in 2022 in Indiana is incredibly impressive at the top, but there are several really nice prospects throughout the list as well. Our Top-200 is home to 45 small forward prospects who make up 22.5% of all 2022 prospects ranked in Indiana. There is a little of everything in this group, including shooters, slashers, athletes, and defenders, plus physical rebounders, point forwards, and prospects with tremendous versatility. There are several really nice small college foundation pieces as well. Below is a look at those 45 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in December.

Newcomers
Our Spring rankings update isn’t a big time for new additions to the current Junior class, but while we didn’t expand from 200 prospects, there were three small forwards added due to a couple of openings on the list. Dara Capaldi Dara Capaldi 5'10" | SF La Lumiere | 2022 State IN of La Lumiere is in her second year at the prep school in LaPorte. She is a strong, skilled, and athletic point forward type who grew up just North of Detroit. Shamarah Allen Shamarah Allen 5'8" | SF South Bend Washington | 2022 State IN of South Bend Washington is a talented athlete who can run and jump with the best of them. She feasts on turnovers as well. And Adrie Thompson Adrie Thompson 5'10" | SF Tri-West | 2022 State IN of Tri-West is an extremely long, fluid forward who can play in the mid-post or around the perimeter.
Stock-Risers
Kuryn Brunson Kuryn Brunson 5'10" | SF Franklin Community | 2022 State IN , Franklin Community H.S. – Kuryn had a fantastic Winter, leading Franklin to a 22-3 record and one of the best years in program history. She is a strong, North/South athlete, she has great vision and playmaking ability off the bounce, plus she is shooting it well. Kuryn also rebounds her position solidly.
Mariah Claywell Mariah Claywell 5'7" | SG Union City | 2022 State IN , Union City H.S. – Mariah doesn’t get a lot of publicity statewide, because she’s on the state line. But she is another unselfish, versatile, point forward type who does a little of everything fairly well. She has length, wiry strength, and she can create shots for herself or others, plus she’ll defend with effort.
Olivia Faust Olivia Faust 6'0" | SF Triton Central | 2022 State IN , Franklin Central H.S. – The more Olivia plays in front of college coaches, the higher her popularity will rise, because she has a unique skillset. She is a knockdown shooter who needs very little space, and she has a quick release. She does need to get stronger, but she’s extremely long and fluidly athletic.
Julia Mantyla Julia Mantyla 5'11" | SF Northridge | 2022 State IN , Northridge H.S. – Over the last three years, I don’t know that there has been a time I’ve seen Julia when she hasn’t been better than the previous viewing. She is always improving, working on her skillset and basketball IQ, plus she has grown, strengthened her frame, and become more explosive.
Kennedy Tolen Kennedy Tolen 5'9" | SF Benton Central | 2022 State IN , Benton Central H.S. – Kennedy has gone from being a role player as a Freshman to Benton Central’s go-to player as a Junior, averaging 16.5 points per game in 2020-2021. She is a strong wing with a tremendous motor. She shoots it well but she can also attack downhill and finish through contact.
Keep an eye on…
Dara Capaldi Dara Capaldi 5'10" | SF La Lumiere | 2022 State IN , La Lumiere Prep – She’s just a newcomer to the rankings list in Indiana, but she is definitely someone to check out this Spring/Summer, as she plays for The Factory Orange out of Michigan. She is a fairly strong and athletic wing with good length, she is a playmaker off the bounce, plus she can score it.
Lily Ernstes Lily Ernstes 5'8" | SF Jennings County | 2022 State IN , Jennings County H.S. – Lily is one of the most under-appreciated prospects in Indiana in 2022. She is a skilled and versatile kid, and she does have perimeter ability. But because of her motor and toughness, and her willingness to do whatever it takes to win, she is often in the mid-post as a undersized ’4’.
Kelsi Langley Kelsi Langley 5'10" | SF Taylor | 2022 State IN , Taylor H.S. – Kelsi didn’t play last Summer/Fall, but she was back this Winter putting up good numbers again. She is an extremely long, fluidly athletic wing with some bounce. She elevates well on her shots, and she can make tough shots at all levels. Look for her with Central Indiana Elite.
Myah Montgomery Myah Montgomery 6'1" | PF Southridge | 2022 State IN , Southridge H.S. – Myah injured her knee during the 2019-2020 season and missed the entire Summer/Fall of 2020. She returned this Winter and was just rounding into form, but she should be herself again this Spring/Summer. She is a long, very athletic, and skillful wing with a lot of upside/potential.
Natalie Noel Natalie Noel 5'10" | SF Salem | 2022 State IN , Salem H.S. – Natalie is another under-appreciated wing who has contributed all three years on an outstanding Salem team. She has good length, wiry strength, and fluid athleticism. She can act as a point forward at times, she can knock down open shots, and she’s willing to be physical and defend/rebound.
