I am out on the road this weekend in Waukesha, Wisconsin, helping Prep Girls Hoops cover the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit in the Legacy Region. The tournament this weekend, The Race for the Legacy, started Friday night with some good 16U, 15U, and 14U action. Below is a look at five young ladies who I thought stood out in their games. Being from Indiana, this was my first time seeing each of them, so I am interested in seeing them play more throughout the weekend, Spring, and Summer.

Avree is a really nice athlete with a solid/strong frame. She plays with a good motor and has a natural feel for the game. While I think she’s more of a scorer at heart, she does have good vision, a solid handle, and the ability to make plays for others. As a scorer, she looked most comfortable attacking the basket. She absorbed contact well, finished inside, plus she was a willing rebounder.

Mya was as entertaining as anyone Friday evening. She is a smallish, unassuming kid, who looks younger than she is. But don’t let her appearance fool you, because Friday she was a killer. She knocked down shot after shot from the perimeter, she used her dribble well to create space, and she used her speed and quickness to get defenders off-balance and attack the basket. She is tough, feisty, and extremely crafty with the ball.

Mya is a solidly built forward who plays with a nice motor. She got started early in her first game, knocking down 3-pointers on consecutive possessions to put her team on the board. She plays with physicality on the wing, attacks the basket with aggression, and she will get inside and rebound. I also thought she had a solid handle and was able to find open teammates as well.
Addison Doyle, 2025, 5-4 PG, Brookfield East H.S. (WI)
Addison is a true floor general who does a nice job of balancing scoring with running her team. She has really good length and quickness, and she plays with her head up scanning the floor. She can act as a traditional point guard, run offense, and find teammates. But she’s also good at getting into the paint and finishing around “bigs”. Additionally, she knocked down a couple of jumpers.
Clare Weasler, 2026, 5-4 PG, Glenbrook South H.S. (IL)
Clare is a talented youngster who was in control the entire game playing “up” in the 14U division. She has really good length, speed, and quickness. She looks like she’ll still grow quite a bit as well, and she has a great feel for the game. She finds teammates when they’re open, but she also does a nice job of slicing through the lane and finishing with a variety of scoop shots and runners.
