I am out on the road this weekend in Waukesha, Wisconsin, helping Prep Girls Hoops cover the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit in the Legacy Region. The tournament this weekend, The Race for the Legacy, continued all day Saturday with action in several age groups. Below is a look at seven young ladies who I thought stood out in their games I was able to see on Saturday. Being from Indiana, this was my first time seeing each of them, so I am interested in seeing them play more throughout the Spring and Summer.
Alicia Burgos, 2023, 6-1 PF, Dominican H.S. (WI)
Alicia is a very intriguing frontline prospect. She has really good length, wiry strength, and fluid athleticism. She has some bounce to her as well. In the game I saw, she showed the ability to both post up a little and defend the post, but she was also hanging around the mid-post quite a bit, pursuing rebounds, and looking to knock down the 15-foot jumper or attack the basket from there. There is definitely some potential to her game.

Audi is a big, strong, physical post prospect. She has good hands and touch around the basket. What I was most impressed about her, was her balance and body control. She loves to establish position and make a quick pivoting move, or if she catches it facing, she likes to attack with a dribble and go immediately into a spin-move. Her strength naturally creates space for her to finish. She’ll need to work at being able to defend out on the floor better, but she can be a matchup nightmare because of her pure size and power.

Lindsay seems like a very steady and efficient basketball player. She wasn’t overly flashy, she did a nice job of taking care of the ball, and on a team where it seemed like they leaned on her to score it a lot, she didn’t force many shots. She’s a left-handed point guard, so that makes her a little trickier to defend. She has some length, wiry strength, and a smooth, fluid athleticism to her game. She also shot it well from the perimeter.
Cadence Xiong, 2023, 5-0 PG, West Bend East H.S. (WI)
Cadence was tough in the couple of games I saw of her. She is a strong, compact, tough-nosed little guard. She does a nice job of running offense and taking care of the basketball, but she seems like a consistent and dangerous perimeter shooter who reads screens well and finds space to get her shot away. She is more quick than fast, but she uses her quickness and instincts to do a solid job defensively on the ball.

Savannah is one of those kids whose best days might be ahead of her, because she looks like she might still be growing, and she should add strength to her frame. She is already a nice prospect, though, as she has good length, speed and quickness, and a real feistiness to her game. She is a playmaker off the bounce, she does a nice job of finding teammates, and she uses her quick handle to get defenders off-balance.
Jabrea LaCaze, 2024, 6-3 C, Thornwood H.S. (IL)
Jabrea is nowhere near a finished product yet, but she is incredibly intriguing and looks like she could become a really nice prospect long-term. She obviously has the height, but she also has some length and a solid to strong frame. She plays with a good motor for a “big”, and she runs the floor hard. I really liked her constant effort posting up, even when she didn’t get the ball. She’ll just need to continue developing her all-around game.

Aaliyah is a talented, long, quick/fast, and shifty point guard prospect. She flies up the floor and looks for a gap in the defense, then attacks if she has even the slightest advantage. If not, she’ll give you a little head & shoulder fake, then try to attack. But, I was also impressed with her vision in transition. She made a number of passes from 40 to 70-feet on target. She also shot it pretty consistently, and she was a capable on-ball defender.
