Through the sacrifice that programs made this season emerged a fantastic brand of basketball that was as entertaining as any season previous.
Prep Girls Hoops has been on top of coverage throughout this season in the Garden State, and now as AAU competition gears up, it’s time to recap the 2021 season.
PGH continues its look throughout the state in the Tri-County Conference, profiling the best talent in Classic and Diamond divisions.
Imani Gillette – G/F, Overbrook
Gillette was a star her first two seasons at Overbrook and that continued in her junior season, averaging a career-high 20.6 PPG and 2.1 BPG along with 11.3 RPG and 1.9 SPG. She was oh-so-close to breaking that 20 point average plateau last season, but she broke through in 2021, continuing to play the role of team leader. She’s been one of the most dominant players in the TCC the past three seasons, and watching her continued progress on the court has been really exciting. Her senior season is going to be one to watch out for across the state as she looks to put up double-double averages again and dominate on the defensive end.
Jenna Georgette – G, Pitman
Georgette has really shown a massive amount of growth over her four seasons at Pitman, developing into the scoring machine she was in 2021. She averaged 19.3 PPG and 2.5 made threes a game this season, including a career-high 39 points against Camden Academy Charter. She put up back-to-back 30+ point games, following that one up with a 33-point performance against Cumberland that was the big difference in a 46-45 win. Her 4.6 RPG was a career-high as well as her perimeter shooting. She ended her high school career with a flurry for sure and she’s going to be missed at Pitman come next season.
Riley Fulmer – G, Woodstown
Fulmer shined on a Woodstown team that was 10-3 this season, including a 7-2 divisional record. The junior showed that she is one of the best perimeter shooters in the conference, hitting two a game this season. Overall, Fulmer averaged 16.2 PPG and 1.9 SPG, leading the Wolverines in scoring and three-point shooting. This season, Fulmer took a massive step forward from beyond the arc, showing that she is more than capable of expanding her range, and she was more lethal than ever. It’s going to be really exciting to see what she does in her senior season at Woodstown.
Alexis Davis Alexis Davis 6'0" | SF Woodbury | 2023 State NJ – G/F, Glassboro
Davis was one of the most dominant all-around players in the conference and in the state, surpassing the 1,000 point mark in just her sophomore season. She averaged 28.1 PPG, 16.8 RPG, 3.3 BPG and 2.5 SPG for Glassboro, who finished the season 10-4, including 7-2 in divisional play. Its success ran through Davis, someone who has already looked like a veteran despite being a sophomore. She’s shown a massive amount of maturity and cemented herself as a team leader no doubt. There was nothing she couldn’t do on the court, from dominating in the paint and on the boards, to shooting from the outside or causing havoc on defense. She’s already a superstar and her talent level is only going to increase from here.
Tia Furbush – G, Schalick
Furbush had just about as good of a senior sendoff season as you can have, averaging 25.5 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 2.4 made threes a game, and 5.2 SPG for Schalick. She’s been the engine behind this program the past four seasons, the backbone of the program if you will, and that was especially true against Overbook on February 25 as Furbush scored a career-high 49 points, equaling the Rams’ offense on her own in a 60-49 win. She scored 30 or more points in four of her last six games of this season and was virtually untouchable on offense. Once she turned on the afterburners, no one was stopping her.
