But if Pittsburgh, PA Is an indicator of what’s to come this year will be awesome! With 24 courts plus and over 100 teams! One game was packed with four rows of spectators deep for a non-exposure the WPA Bruins tip-off not only hit the mark they knocked it out of the park! Some of the elite programs on the East Coast attend this tournament. Virginia was well represented as well here are some of the girls from our neck of the woods that stood out.
Takeira Ramey Takeira Ramey 5'6" | PG Massaponax | 2024 State VA 5’7 PG ‘24 Elevate Elite Gold 16U
Takeira is a great prospect that’s is only going to get better! Just started playing in the 7th grade she has the perfect skill set that coaches love. She ran the team efficiently scored and is a great defender. Her team had a lot of back-and-forth games the whole weekend but she was the mainstay in each game!
Kymora Johnson Kymora Johnson 5'8" | CG St. Anne's Belfield | 2023 State VA 5’8 CG 2023 UAA WV Thunder
Kymora is a basketball veteran even as a 10th grader. She has made the jump from Boo Williams to WV Thunder which is quite frankly one of the premier programs in the country. She’s a consistent player with a high basketball IQ that is just getting her feet wet! Lead her team to a 3-1 record this weekend.
Amaya Pendleton 5’9 W 2022 Team Loaded
Team Loaded girls are back! An Amaya is an interesting prospect from Albermarle HS. She has great size and skills, and you can tell she has been in the gym working on her game. Her team got overmatched in pivotal points of a couple of games but no doubt Coach Avery will have them ready for this weekend.
Jane Elkins 6’1 2022 Elevate Elite
A very tough scrappy player that plays with a lot of moxie. She showed leadership on the floor and her team responded. After the team’s tough start to the tournament, the. the team rebounded well and she put up good numbers against a good UAA DC Premier team.
Ella Weaver 6’ G 2023 UAA WV Thunder 16U
Ella like her older program mate also made the jump out of state to a new program. The six-foot guard attends the same high school as former standout and now at Notre Dame Samantha Brunelle Samantha Brunelle 6'4" | SF William Monroe | 2019 State VA . Ella her a good size for her position and was not overmatch against stiffer competition. A 3-1 record for her team was not bad for the newcomer team.
