The smallest player on the floor was tons of fun to watch. Amelia Solt is a confident point guard that plays with some flare. She has the ball on a string and manipulates defenders until she gets what she wants. Solt has deep range, willing to fire off the dribble without hesitation. Amelia’s shifty handle opened driving lanes as she snaked her way to the hoop and finished with floaters and difficult scoop shots. Solt ended her day with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Pound-for-pound, it’s hard to find better value.
2022 5-7 PG Azariah Ellis – Lady Drive Nation
Ellis cranked it up in the second half, scoring 14 of her game-high 15 points to leady Lady Drive Nation to a 48-36 win. Azariah is the engine that makes Lady Drive Nation go. She provides energy on both ends of the floor. Ellis was able to chip away at the defense until she found ways to get inside. Her outside shot helped loosen the defense and get her into a groove. Aside from her scoring, Ellis was key with 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
2021 5-11 F Liliani Krause – PLUTO Prospects
Liliani Krause provided a toughness and ruggedness that carried PLUTO to a 50-40 victory. She was a freight train in the paint, battling until she came away with loose balls. Krause was on the offensive glass with her nose for the ball. Liliani hit the baseline jumper and used her strong build to drive into the defense and power up through fouls. She went 5-7 from the line and finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block.
2022 5-7 CG Maleighya Estes – Lady Unity
Maleighya Estes is a bucket. She’s a creative ball handler with a green light to score from all three levels. She dumped in 25 points in a loss, getting to her spots and hitting tough jumpers over the defense.
2022 6-0 G Alexa Rubel – SEMO Sizzle
The southpaw’s game was predicated on getting two feet into the paint. Rubel was a foul magnet, forcing the referees to blow the whistle as she sliced up the defense. Alexa did a good job finishing with either hand. As the game went on, Rubel would drive and kick to open shooters in the corners once the defense collapsed. Rubel provided major value as a rebounder and as SEMO’s primary ball handler.
