2024 6-1 C Madison Shinholster – Macon Mystics – Tattnall Square
A big physical presence in the low post, Madison Shinholster can clog the lane with her size and alter shots. She was tough against Bostic Next Level collecting 5 rebounds and 7 blocks. Her defense is ahead of her offense right now, but things are starting to slow down for the promising young post.
2022 5-5 PG Nautica Boone – Macon Mystics – Westside-Macon
Boone is a speedy little guard that can help set the tempo. The lefty keeps defenses honest with her three-point shot. Nautica uses her quickness on defense to harass ball handlers up top. She’s a quality rebounder for her size and plays with reliable energy.
2025 5-7 G Laila Harvey – Macon Mystics
The youngest player on the floor, Laila Harvey shows flashes of her upside. She’s grown into her frame and has better body control from when I last saw her over a year ago. When she puts her mind to it, Harvey is a strong slasher that can finish through contact. She’s someone to keep an eye on in middle Georgia.
2023 5-3 G Jaida Anderson – CAAT Lady Wildcats – East Paulding
Jaida Anderson set the tone with her defense in a physical game against the Atlanta Nets. Anderson face guarded Cameryn Morris and was able to slow her down in spurts. CAAT fed off of Anderson’s quickness and competitive spirit. On offense, she went coast-to-coast for a layup and drilled two threes.
2022 5-7 G Destinee Lovejoy – CAAT Lady Wildcats – East Paulding
Destinee Lovejoy brought her hardhat on Friday night as she fought for lose balls and battled for rebounds. Her energy inside helped spark CAAT. She finished with 7 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. You can always count on Lovejoy to play hard.
2022 5-9 F Halle Verkerk – CAAT Lady Wildcats – East Paulding
The left-handed rebounding machine chewed away at the entire with 7 points and 9 rebounds. She has a great nose for the ball and does a good job fighting for position on the offensive glass. Verkerk is a consistent double-double threat.
2023 5-10 W McKayla Mann – CAAT Lady Wildcats – East Paulding
There is potential in McKayla Mann. She has great length on the perimeter and is a true wing, but is also capable of playing all over the floor. She has a nice shooting touch and is a versatile defender. Mann has ball handling experience. If she’s able to stay aggressive on offense, she could become a really formidable swingman.
