I dropped by a E33 Eagles practice on Wednesday. Coached by Eryk Watson, the bulk of the Eagles roster has been together since middle school with additions here and there. The roster is based out of Cobb and Cherokee County.
2022 5-10 W Anna Gernatt – Harrison
A popular prospect among D-III programs with offers from LaGrange and Berry, Gernatt is a sharpshooting wing with size. She has a quick trigger and is accurate from the mid-range and of course, the three-point line. Gernatt has enough size and physicality to help on the glass and defend bigger opponents if stuck inside. She holds a 4.2 GPA and has gotten off to a quick start this Spring.
2022 5-6 G Lauryn Towns – North Cobb Christian
Towns is a powerful guard that has been in the weight room. She has a strong body and quick first step that can help her get downhill quickly. She can take bumps and dish them out as well when handling the ball. Her overall guard skills have improved from when I last saw her. She can get creative and turn corners in a limited amount of dribbles. Finishing through contact and crafting a consistent outside shot well help her long-term development.
2022 5-9 F Emme Johnson – Harrison
Emme Johnson is a reliable glue-guy that can play either forward position. She’s capable of mixing it up on the glass and creating mismatches on offense. Johnson can knock down the baseline jumper and help pull bigger defenders away from the basket.
2022 5-6 G Kiersten James – Etowah
A dual-sport athlete that stars in softball and holds a 4.0 GPA, Kiersten James is an agile guard that helps initiate the offense. She’s a pass-first ball handler that can make things happen with her speed. James is a pesky defender that can get into passing lanes and has the foot speed to stay in front of opposing guards. On offense, she’s primarily a slasher when looking for her own offense. Mixing in her left hand more often will help with James’ growth.

has D-I upside. It’s scary how good she can be. Moore is a matchup nightmare. She’s extremely long and is a great athlete that can run up and down all day. Like a gazelle, she covers ground quickly with her first step. At the rim, she can finish with either hand and has a quick second leap to clean up any misses. Moore can space the floor out to the three-point line and consistently hit from beyond the arc. Against the zone, Moore does major damage. On Wednesday she worked the baseline, hitting jumpers and slashing to the basket when slower defenders were drawn out. Staying aggressive and having a killer’s mindset will help Moore fulfill her potential. She can defend 1-5 as a terrific shot blocker with cat-like reflexes. Moore starts fast breaks and is equally as versatile on offense. Brooke has a chance to be the best player on the floor nearly every time she laces up.
2024 6-0 C Megan Reed – Etowah
Reed provided power on the low block. Still a young player, Megan displayed a nice drop step into the middle of the lane. She was comfortable finishing with either hand and used a wide base to stay on balance when making moves.
2024 5-11 C Becca Newman – Etowah
The second part of the young twin towers out of Etowah, Becca Newman is a rebounding presence that can help clog the lane when playing zone. The coaching staff was working with her to create contact inside and use her size to her advantage. Becca’s defense is a little ahead of her offense right now. Expect her game to improve steadily over the course of the offseason.
2022 5-5 G Bailey Vick – Harrison
Coming off left knee surgery which has sidelined her for 8 months, Bailey Vick just recently got cleared to return to action. She is an energy giver on both ends of the floor. Vick provides scrappy defense and an important ball handler that can help organize the offense and knock down shots from the perimeter.
2023 5-9 G Libby Hein – Mt. Paran
Libby Hein is an athletic and wiry guard that can be utilized in a variety of ways. She has quick feet and active hands that help her be an annoyance on defense. On offense, she balances her game as a slasher and shooter. She didn’t force the issue on Wednesday and helped keep the ball moving.

was still front and center on Wednesday. The 4.618 GPA student was a vocal leader from the bench, encouraging her teammates and staying involved while sidelined.
