Yesterday Prep Girls Hoops Indiana released it’s initial Class of 2025 Watchlist. It ended up including 55 prospects who have stood out over the past year or so, and it will expand in September as more players come to light. At this point in time, I wanted to highlight a few of the point guard prospects from that list and give you a little more detail into them and their games. To be clear, they are arranged below alphabetically by last name (not ranked), and there might be someone better out there who isn’t mentioned below. But these are some of the young ladies I have seen and/or heard about the most, and they are the ones I felt most comfortable writing about at this point in time.

After you watch Laila for a mere five minutes, it’s easy to see she’s one of the best prospects in Indiana’s 2025 class, let alone the best point guard prospect. She has an athletic frame, good length, and speed & quickness. She is tough-nosed, aggressive at both ends of the floor, and mature for her years. She can score the ball at all three levels or find teammates, and she can be an elite on-ball defender when she wants to. She can dictate a game at both ends of the floor, and she has already earned several Division-I offers.

Addison is a long, quick/fast, and crafty point guard prospect. She always seems to make the right play in each situation, and she’ll even make plays on occasion that her peers don’t see until it happens. She is dynamic with the ball, she has good vision and instincts, but she can also knock down open rhythm jumpers. She’ll need to get stronger in time, but she has a really nice floor game overall, and a high ceiling as a prospect.
Lilly Bischoff

At this point, Lilly is just carrying on a family tradition of Bischoff girls starring on the hardwood. Lilly probably has as much ball skill as any of her older sisters when compared at the same age. She is a traditional pass-first point guard, she sees the floor well, she plays with a good motor, and she’s somewhat feisty out there. She’ll get after it defensively, and she can make open shots. Rumor is the remaining girls will be at Center Grove instead of Roncalli, moving forward.
Alyssa Murphy

Alyssa might be the most skilled girl on this list. She has a unique sense for the game, and she has worked hard to become one of the most skillful and most instinctual players in Indiana’s 2025 class. She has a dynamic handle and is tough to contain off the bounce. She senses where everyone is on the floor at all times, and she is very crafty. She’ll also get after it at the defensive end of the floor. She is already playing on the 16U EYBL circuit.

, 2025, 5-6 CG, Greensburg H.S.
Mylie is another kid following in the footsteps of older siblings, but I think she has the talent and skill to be the best of the bunch in the gym. She has a wiry-strong frame, she’s a fairly smooth and fluid athlete, and she has a balanced skillset. She is tough/feisty, she gets downhill quick and can attack, plus she absorbs contact well and can finish inside. She knocks down open shots, finds open teammates, and she’ll defend with grit and effort.
Ryiah Wilson

Ryiah is a real talent, and it’s easy to see her physical ability as soon as the game starts. She is long, wiry-strong, and very bouncy and active. She likes to make plays off the bounce for herself and others, plus she’s a real problem defensively, because she uses her length and ability to bother opponents. She is a really nice run & jump athlete, and as she learns to change speeds and sense the tone of different games, I think she’ll develop into one of the top prospects in this class.
Vanessa Wimberly

Lake Central | 2025

, 2025, 5-2 PG, Lake Central H.S.
Vanessa is one of the best point guards in this class; she’s just shorter. She is incredibly quick, fast, and explosive. She is dynamic off the bounce and consistently gets gaps and finds open teammates at the basket. She’s almost “untrappable” in the full-court, because she just beats trappers to spots. Defensively, she’ll get up under opposing ball-handlers and really frustrate them with her ability to move laterally quicker than they can.
