Alyssa Nielsen Alyssa Nielsen 6'0" | PF Bixby | 2023 State OK | 5-11 PF | Team Griffin 2023 / Bixby, OK | 2023 | @AlyssaN2023
A bit of a personal note here. Alyssa was the first player that I ever covered in my job as a scout for Prep Girls Hoops. She went off in a high school game for Bixby and I interviewed her after the game. I say all of that to say that I am a bit of an expert when it comes to being able to say how far she has come in the last two years. She already was a great player with tremendous size and strength. However, she has worked so much on her footwork in the paint on the offensive end and added a nice turnaround jumper, that it is almost unfair to opponents. She is clearly a hardworker who has worked on bettering every part of her game. For the champion Team Griffin squad she scored in double digits while defending extremely well against very good opposition on the AAO Flight squad. Nielsen is going to be a very good player for a college team and you owe it to yourself to get to Bixby – or wherever Team Griffin is playing – to take a look for yourself.
Ashlynn Galvin | 5-6 CG | Texas Platinum 2023 / Jim Ned High, TX | 2023 | @AshlynnGalvin
This kid is a flat-out baller. You cannot watch Platinum play without seeing Galvin flash into every possession for either team. On the defensive end, she has tremendous quickness and a high basketball IQ and flashes into the play to disrupt and often times take the ball away. On the offensive end, she is in constant motion and works hard without the ball to get into scoring position. She is very bouncy and has a very nice three point shot, though she is not limited to scoring from the outside. With her quickness and handles, she can explode past her defender and get to the rim with relative ease. Coaches, set a course for Tuscola, Texas and get a look at Ashlynn when the high school season starts up again.
Salese Blow | 5-10 F | Texas Platinum 2023 / Plano, TX | 2023 | @BoboDaShow
Though her height would make her a high school power forward, “Bobo” is definitely not limited to the post. She runs the floor and handles the ball better than a lot of guards who were in the building for the Dynasty Region Finals and she has all the makings of a tremendous college player who could basically play anywhere on the floor. She has great size and above average quickness. She plays the point and is a tremendous scoring guard with an above-average ability to finish inside. Blow can blow past defenders of any caliber with a great first step and does a great job of finishing through contact at the rim. She is basically an “and-1” machine. Blow scores from all three levels, but seems to relish the chance to take her defender one-on-one and go to the hole. “Bobo” is extremely fun to watch and she will be even more fun to watch in college in the near future.
Taneya Howard Taneya Howard 5'11" | PF Broken Arrow | 2023 State OK | 5-10 F | Oklahoma Swift 2023 / Broken Arrow, OK | 2023 | @taneyahowardba1
Taneya made our second-team squad for the PGH Battle in the Big Friendly and the fact that she also made the team here at the PGH Dynasty Region Finals should tell you a lot about her abilities. The competition at both has been at a very high level, but to come to the Finals and show out is a really big deal. Taneya is an extremely athletic forward with a high-motor who does a great job of securing rebounds and putting the ball in afterwards. She had double-digit points and double-digit rebounds in almost every game. Howard is also very talkative and communicates well with her teammates. She appears to be very coachable and really is just the kind of kid a coach wants on every team. She does the hardwork, isn’t afraid to get dirty and is a tremendous teammate who clearly just wants to win.
Regan Williams Regan Williams 6'2" | SF Link Academy | 2024 State MO | 6-2 G/F | KC Lady Run GMC 2023 UAA / Park Hill South, MO | 2024 | @yeaitsregan
Regan is a D-I player, that’s all there is to it. She clearly has the size, but she also has tremendous ability. She can score it from anywhere. If you’ve seen as much high school girls basketball as I have, you realize there is a major difference in the types of 6-2 players you see. Some are space eaters, immovable on the block, just there to throw screens and grab rebounds. Then every once in a while you get a glimpse of a true unicorn. Williams moves fluidly, is comfortable with her size and still makes the plays expected from a starting guard. She is just a whole different breed of player. On a college team where she wouldn’t be expected to play inside just because she is 6-2 (and potentially taller by then considering she is only a 2024), Williams will be able to play the perimeter with the ball in her hands and she is going to score in bunches. She really knows how to fill it up from all three levels. Regan is a star in the making.
