Everyone competed hard in St. Thomas’ first camp as a DI school and there was no player who was out of place talent wise. Below are the final 10 standouts from this past Thursday.
Ellie Magestro-Kennedy – 2023 – 5’7 PG – Let It Rain Black – Janesville Craig HS (WI)
Magestro-Kennedy once again proved her capability at the camp. She’s a really solidly built guard who sees the floor extremely well and communicates with teammates at a high level. Really solid court vision displayed in the scrimmages and she was making her teammates around her better. Magestro-Kennedy was one of the quickest players in attendance as she continually got herself into good spots to get to the rim or make shots.
Ally Timm – 2024 – 5’9 SG – Wisconsin Impact Kelley – DSHA HS (WI)
Timm really caught my attention at the elite camp as she was always making winning plays. She isn’t going to be a kid that jumps off the court at you but will consistently make the right play. I was really intrigued by how she was able to matchup with players from all positions and defend them well. Timm is a very solid guard who read the defense well and was a terror in the pick-and-roll game at the camp. She once again showed a very high basketball IQ.
Jordan Zubich – 2024 – 5’11 SG – Starks Elite – Mountain Iron-Buhl HS (MN)
Zubich gives you that great combination of size and shooting and that colleges covet and it was on full display at the camp. Her release is pure and can hit shots in a multitude of ways. I also thought that she competed really hard at the event and was definitely one of the standouts in that area. Her ability to play multiple spots on the floor at 5’11 was also evident and gives her a very high ceiling for her future.
Faith Feuerbach – 2022 – 6′ SG – All Iowa Attack – Sycamore HS (IL) – St. Thomas commit
Feuerbach was one of two current future Tommies in attendance and she showed why pretty quickly. She has a really solid build and will gain strength in college making her even more of an impact player. I really like her ability to get to the rim off the dribble but she also can step back and knock down shot after shot. She’s very versatile with how well she can attack the rim and score the ball. A very good teammate who has advanced instincts on both ends of the floor.
Kate Huml – 2022 – 5’7 CG – Let It Rain Black – Janesville Craig HS (WI) – Featured Photo
I was really impressed with the play of Huml at the St. Thomas camp. She’s a very solid guard who played both on the ball and off the ball at a high level at the camp. Huml displayed her athleticism on the defensive side of the ball. She showed very quick hands with the ability to poke the ball lose and push it up the floor. Really smooth player in the half-court who is really solid when she is going at her pace.
Gabby Wilke – 2024 – 6’1 PF – Wisconsin Impact Kelley – Beaver Dam HS (WI)
Wilke was one of the players that I noticed at the St. Thomas who picked up on the drills and concepts quickly as they went through their teaching segments. Wilke was one of the players who didn’t look like she was just going through the motions. she ran the floor very well and was able to showcase her versatility as she played well at multiple different spots throughout. She’s a high level player and proved it against some quality individual talent.
Laura Hauge – 2024 – 5’9 SG – North Tartan EYBL – St. Croix Lutheran HS (MN)
Hauge has a knack for scoring the basketball and she was able to showcase that at the St. Thomas elite camp. She’s a very skilled player with the ball and has the ability to fill up the stat sheet in a hurry. Hauge displayed quite a bit of smoothness at the camp and was able to do whatever she wanted with the ball at times. She was aggressive getting to the basket but was able able to shoot the ball at a high level from beyond the arc.
Makayla Boatman – 2023 – 5’8 SG – All Iowa Attack – North Polk HS (IA)
Boatman is a really solid off-ball guard who can attack the basket or shoot the ball at a very high level. At the elite camp I thought that she was the best player in the camp at running off screens to get herself open to make shots. She also has a very solid mid-range game where she can either rise up and shoot it or make a floater. I thought she did a really nice job of getting the ball to open teammates while not forcing anything. She’s also very long and I think it takes some players by surprise.
Bree Bowman – 2025 – 6’1 SF – North Tartan Nike – Prior Lake HS (MN)
Bowman stood out as one of the top underclass players at the event and she hasn’t even hit high school yet. I was really impressed with her length and mobility for a player of her age. She has an advanced feel for the game and has the ability to get to the rim at a high level. Smooth with both hands on the floor her biggest differentiator might have been her defense. It was my first time seeing her in action but came away impressed with this freshman to-be.
Molly Noelck – 2023 – 5’9 SG – Pure Prep Adidas – Johnston HS (IA)
Noelck is one of the premier shooters in the 2023 class in Iowa and it didn’t take long to see why. She’s a really solid shooter off the catch and displayed some very nice range with the ball in her hands. I thought that her ability to get to the rim was good as well and finish once she got there. Her lateral quickness improvements were evident as well as she was able to handle switches with ease and not get beat around the corner.
