Lilliany Ferguson, Connecticut Spirit, 2022
Ms. Ferguson definitely turned some heads at “The Nook”. The six foot guard showed a ton of versatility by logging heavy minutes to start the game, then sliding over to the wing to close the game. She has an impressive vertical and used it effectively to crash the offensive boards. She scored in transition and in the paint off pull ups and floaters. I was very impressed with her ability to run the team and set up others for buckets.
Shailyn Pinkney Shailyn Pinkney 5'9" | PG East Hartford | 2022 State NewE , Connecticut Spirit, 2022
Shailyn is a Seton Hall recruit and it’s easy to see why. She is a quick and explosive combo guard that excels in transition. She is physically strong and has elite body control which allows her to finish through contact or just avoid it. She scored at all three levels and then closed the game out as the primary facilitator.
Nia Henley, GTS Fusion, 2023
Nia was very impressive in the game I saw. A true point guard with a Baron Davis like flow to her game. She is tough and physical but also blessed with speed and quickness. She finished through contact, made some nice passes and stepped into some nice threes in transition. She has good instincts and sees the floor well. Sign me up for more, I’ll be following.
Makaela Quimby, Team Durant, 2023
Makaela was her usual smooth self while scoring points in bunches. At 5’9″ she can shoot over most guards with her pull up jumpers in the paint, but she can also get to the rim and finish. Her 3 point range is impressive and she gets shots off quickly without hesitation.
Yonta Vaugh, Team Takeover, 2022
Yonta has been playing at a high level since middle school. She’s been playing up and running national level teams for so long that it’s almost weird to see her with kids her age. She is a point guard in every sense. She can make every necessary pass with accuracy, has strong handles and can score from every level. She’s a tough competitor and will defend the whole court. Check her out this summer.
