Memorial Weekend 2021 was the conclusion of the very first Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. There were three regional finals spread across the country, with Fishers High School in Central Indiana playing host to the Victory Region Finals. All of the teams in attendance were from East of the Mississippi River, and they stretched from as far North as Michigan, and as far South as North Carolina and Tennessee. While I was tasked with covering the entire 16U Division, I did come across a few Indiana prospects in the 15U Division who I felt were worthy of a few words here. Below is a look at ten of those girls from the 15U Division.

If you had to pick just one word to describe Lauren, it would simply be ’productive’. She is as active, full of energy, tough, physical, and aggressive as any guard in Indiana’s 2024 class. She can score the ball at all three levels, and there is no quit in her effort. She attacks the basket with intensity every time, she finishes through contact, but she also has some ball skill and good touch around the perimeter. She is just a bulldog on the court.

I’ve been impressed with Kiarra’s skillful development over the last 8-12 months. She has an athletically strong frame, she moves well in most directions, and she plays with a motor. But while last Summer she was probably more comfortable around the paint, even with her back to the basket a lot, this Spring she has played at all three levels solidly, and she’s looking to do a lot more facing the basket in the mid-post and around the perimeter.

Now that Morgan has grown several inches in the past couple of years, she’s starting to show signs of improved strength. She spent this past weekend helping both the 17U team and the 15U team in her program, and she did some nice things at both levels. She has tremendous length, her handle continues to improve, and she’s a capable perimeter shooter when she gets her feet set. She’ll only get better as she finishes growing.

This was my first time seeing Laila up close, and she is without question an elite point guard prospect. She has an athletically strong frame, good length at her height, and she has nice North/South athleticism, plus the stop/start ability to change directions at a moment’s notice. She has a dynamic handle and rarely feels pressure, plus she can absorb contact and get by defenders to finish around the basket. She’s one of Indiana’s top 2025 prospects.

Myla is one of those unique talents who already has a lot of skill and ability to her game, but she’s still growing and gaining strength, so she has great upside as well. She is extremely long, fluid, and just smooth with the basketball. She can make shots at all levels, but she’s at her best slicing through the defense and finishing around the cup. She has the potential to be more of a point guard long-term, but right now I like her as a scorer first.

Jaylah has a great combination of height, length, skill, and ability for her age. She is a wiry strong wing who can play a number of roles. She is a nice straight-line driver who finishes in a variety of ways around the basket with either hand. She absorbs contact reasonably well for her age, plus she can use her height/length in the mid-post and around the basket. At the same time, she is comfortable handling and shooting it around the perimeter. She has already been heavily recruited, and she will only get better over the next four years.
Jordan Scott, 2025, 5-5 CG, Castle H.S.
I thought Jordan had a really good day Saturday when I was able to see a couple of her games. She is a strong-for-her-size combo guard with nice athleticism. She has good speed and quickness, plus she plays with a nice motor. Right now she’s probably better off the ball, but she does have a solid handle and will likely become more of point guard long-term. I also really enjoy her sense of urgency at her age at the defensive end of the floor.
Brooklyn Sturgeon, 2025, 5-2 PG, North Knox H.S.
Brooklyn is another 8th Grader who put together a couple of good showings on Saturday. She is a strong, low-to-the-ground point guard, and she plays with an even pace and doesn’t hurry into decisions. At the same time, she showed the ability to knock down open jumpers consistently, and she made a couple of big plays down the stretch for her grassroots team. She is just one of many skillful youngsters in the North Knox program.

(above), and she is already taller at this point. Lola is a talented athlete with an athletic frame and great length. She is tremendous in the mid-post right now, unstoppable really for her age, but she can also use her size in the low-post or step outside and knock down 3-pointers when in rhythm. Her talent and upside are obvious within a few minutes of watching her, so she’ll just need to continue getting stronger and tightening her all-around skillset. She has already drawn major college interest.
Aniyah McKenzie, 2026, 5-10 SF, Fall Creek Valley M.S.
Aniyah is yet another talented 7th Grader in Indiana’s 2026 class, and she has a lot of skill and upside both. She is a strong wing, a nice athlete, plus she plays with a good motor and some physicality. She is an attacking driver who likes to get inside and finish, but she does have some touch facing the basket as well. She is an active rebounder, a versatile defender, and honestly, she plays like a Freshman or Sophomore out there, not a member of the Class of 2026.
