In the future this number will certainly grow as there will be some new players step in and some wings who will grow into stretch-4 type players. There are also always players who do not play AAU that end up in the Top-200 by the end of their careers due to size being such a sought after trait for college coaches. We are right around the same amount of posts from last year’s initial watchlist as well so this is about par for the course. There are a few posts who have really stood out thus far that I will breakdown below.
Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6'2" | C Johnston | 2025 State IA is one player who has really stood out this summer. She played her summer basketball with Kingdom Hoops and will be heading to Des Moines North next year. I really like her as a back to the basket post player who can really develop into being a very nice player. Jenkins doesn’t shy away from getting good position in the paint and can score with her back to the basket. She is physical with the ball in her hands and at times displays really good footwork. She finishes well at the rim with both hands and doesn’t seem to rely on going to the same side each time. With that being said, she is still very raw but the physical traits and enough skill is there for her to really blossom if she works hard over the next few years.
You also do have a lot of size in this class with Jenkins being 6’1 and there are three other players who are already over 6’0 tall. Brooke Kroggeman Brooke Kroggeman 6'0" | PF West Delaware | 2025 State IA of West Delaware and Kelli Storck Kelli Storck 6'0" | PF ADM | 2025 State IA of ADM are both 6’0 while Rebecca Aagard Rebecca Aagard 6'2" | PF North Polk | 2025 State IA of Norwalk stands at 6’2. These three players are categorized as post players right now but have the potential to get quicker over the next few years and work their way into a wing role with added athleticism and quickness. All three of these players have the potential as well to quickly impact their high school team with their size.
