When I am out on the road watching prospects and I see Cap City Ballerz on the schedule I always make it out to see at last one of their games. I know their teams will be well coached, play hard and have some college prospects to see. Their trip to the Atlanta Summer Slam was on point as I saw five players that were impressive.
Madison Butler, 2022
6’2″ Post with a nice shooting touch. She really uses her size well and showed great timing on her blocked shots. Sets good picks and boxes out well.
Jessica Osuanah Jessica Osuanah 6'3" | C Partrick Henry HS | 2022 State VA , 2022
Physically strong post player with legit size at 6’3″ and solidly built. Takes up a lot of space in the paint and showed a willingness to move people around. Offensive skills are still raw but she can catch and finish in traffic.
Amirah Washington Amirah Washington 5'6" | PG Monacan | 2024 State VA , 2024
Tough point guard who really impacted the game. She was everywhere, fighting for loose balls and grabbing rebounds. She played a lot off the ball so there is some versatility in her game. Exceptional athlete with a nice floater and pull up game. Showed poise at the end of a close game, helping the team close it out.
Comari Mitchell, 2024
Comari stands out because of her explosiveness. She is listed as a point guard but played exclusively on the wing in the game I watched due to two other point guards being out there with her. She plays bigger than her 5’7″ size because she has some serious hops. Her soft touch around the basket helped her score in bunches. Her 3 point shot looked good too. Would love to catch one of her high school games to see what she does there.
Lanijah Williams, 2024
Real slick point guard that was in total control of the offense. Plays at a measured pace and then explodes past defenders with a vicious first step and a bag of hesitation moves. She’s only about 5’2″ but plays with a quiet swagger and locks up like Mugsy Bogues on defense. Nice body control allowed her to score some buckets over bigger players. She had four turnovers so I would like to see her tighten up the passes and really get to that next level. She could be special.
