Jada Graves-5’3 PG (GT4L) Amarillo HS, Kennedy Alexander-6’0 SF (Houston Skyrise 16U Gold) Channelview HS, and Grace Sims-5’7 PG ( DC Queens WTX 16U Orange) Panhandle HS made the Day 1 Top Performers list, therefore I’m not listing them again Keep in mind I’m omitting teams that numbers were completely screwed up yet here we go
2022
Mikah Chapman-6’0 SG/SF (Hoop 10 Storm) Frenship HS
Chapman was one of the most athletic players in the event, that could play, and her TIMING to block, alter and deflect was definitely among the best I’ve seen this season, so her UPS also worked on her finishes as she elevated over defenders with ease, either off the dribble attacking or after putbacks, keep in mind she’s also “long and athletic” and plays the passing lane, something I love to see and also showed she could face the basket and score
Bella Sipowicz-6’3 C (Hoop 10 Storm) Lubbock Cooper HS
Sipowicz size was intriguing when you combine her ability to finish showing nice moves in the paint as well as putbacks yet she also rebounded strongly on both ends, 75 inches and she’s strong
Menaiya Ewing-5’7 CG (Hoop 10 Storm) Estacado HS
Ewing was playing right outside of DALLAS yet her range seemed like it was from SOUTHFORK so watching her create her shot under pressure and nail it from mid to long-range was nice, so was her ability to handle the ball and see the floor
Niara Simmons-5’6 PG (Keener Angels 2022 Team Red) Hahnville HS
Simmons has a deceptive first step which enabled her to attack the rim from multiple angles and finish after contact, with either hand but she also made some nice passes attacking the rim
Vanessa Haywood-5’4 PG (Texas U 17U National) Tyler Legacy HS
Haywood played within herself and stayed under control yet used her athleticism nicely, on both ends. She attacked the basket multiple ways, finished multipole ways but she also applied pressure on the defensive end
2023
Karleigh Guiterrez-5’7 CG (Hoop 10 Select) La Cueva HS
Guiterrez has SAVVY in CAPS, well she also has ACRO capitalized so as I play everything back in my petabyte of memory but she saw the floor very well and made tough passes look easy by threading the needle yet that body control on her finishes is still flashing in my head
Bailey Johnson-5’7 SG (Kenner Angels 2022 Team Red) St. Mary’s Dominican HS
Johnson is an athletic guard that attacks the basket hard and she finishes after contact but she also showed she could hit the pull-up jumper in transition
2024
RaMya Kennedy RaMya Kennedy 5'8" | SF Wichita South | 2024 State KS -5’10 SG/SF (316 Premier 15U) Wichita Southeast HS
Kennedy’s upside is really impressive based on what she’s doing now and her using her athleticism to not only create her shot but knock down the pull-up jumper is a big plus, especially when you factor in her size and she’s doing it mid to long-range and always remember, college coaches love shooters as she’s a couple of inches shy of “the magic number” that may be on your SAT
Brooklyn Alexander-6’0 PF (Houston Skyrise 16U Gold) Channelview HS
Alexander is long and athletic, OMG, they’re twins, okay I wasn’t seeing double but double trouble as she rebounds well on both ends, showed she could block shots as well as defend but her finishes add to what’s coming
Taler Thornton Taler Thornton 5'9" | CG Bryan | 2024 State TX -5’9 SG (Houston Skyrise 16U Gold) Bryan HS
Thornton will close this session like she closes out games under pressure, with ease. She can take over offensively if she has to, she can score in the flow but she fills up the stat sheet which is pretty impressive
