Zamyra Adams, 5’9”, CG/SF, Tom Clark, SA Lady Hoops 2023 Black – Adams right away caught my attention with her athleticism. She was fast with the ball, showed good strength in scrappy situations, and scored inside with elevation and against contact.
Summya Adigun Summya Adigun 5'8" | SF Hugoton | 2023 State KS , 5’8″, CG/SF, Hugoton, Western Kansas Elite 2022 Adigun/Nichol – I have seen Adigun play anywhere from the point to power forward in club ball as well as with her high school team the past couple of years. In her morning game she played primarily on the wing and where she did the most damage was in the offensive rebounding department. Adigun is strong, physical, anticipates well, and is unafraid of contact inside going up for a put back. Penalizes opposing defenders as well as anybody I have seen for not making boxing her out.
Morgan Engel, 5’9”, F, Hays, Western Kansas Elite 2023 Blue – Engel stood out as a half court defender. She was very sticky to whomever she was guarding.
Annicka Hernandez, 6’1”, PF/C, Dodge City, Western Kansas Elite 2023 Blue – Runs okay, lanky, not very quick or strong, runs okay. Needs to put in a lot of skill work to improve. Doubt will get out of JV
Makenzie Lucas, 5’10”, F, Garden City, Western Kansas Elite 2023 Blue – Lucas showed the ability to take up space defensively, strength, and rebounding ability. She stood out by jumping to the ball and with elevation when rebounding. Lucas also did a great job of tracking plays well and anticipating possible entry passes and basket attacks.
MaKayla McClellan MaKayla McClellan 5'4" | CG Wichita South | 2023 State KS , 5’6”, G, Wichita Independent, Dynasty 2023 Blue – Players better find her in transition as McClellan is a solid 3-ball shooter off transition catch.
Jordan Sears Jordan Sears 5'10" | SF McPherson | 2023 State KS , 5’10”, PF, Homeschooled in McPherson, SSA Gameball Ingram 2023 – Off her defensive rebound, Sears’ terrific end-to-end sprint with the ball that she finished off with a challenged layup said a great deal about her potential.
Taryn St. Clair, 5’9”, SF, Wichita North, Dynasty 2022 Black – The angular and long forward is an aggressive scrapper who mixes it up on both ends of the floor. While I would like to see her a step quicker to defend on the wing St. Clair has potential that I will be keeping an eye on in the upcoming year.
