Some articles will include strictly Indiana prospects, while others might include other Midwestern or National prospects. Below is a look at five additional young ladies who I felt stood out with their play in the games I was able to see Thursday at the North Tartan Meltdown in Minnetonka, Minnesota. This is the second July “live” period of 2021.

Elise is a really nice, young, frontline prospect who plays with a great deal of versatility. She has solid to strong frame, she’s a nice athlete in most directions, and she plays with some physicality and a good motor. She can use her size to play on the block effectively, she’s also comfortable around the perimeter, but I think she’s best in the mid-post because she has great touch at 15-feet, and she can attack the basket from there. Defensively, she does a nice job protecting the paint, plus she can take on most ’4s’ and ’5s’.

Britt is a really nice talent who is difficult to label by position…she is just a ballplayer. She has good length, wiry strength, and fluid athleticism. She can put it on the floor and attack the basket strong, she can initiate the offense like a point forward and find open teammates, and she has some touch around the perimeter. Defensively, she can take on wings, 2-guards, and bigger point guards, plus I think she does a nice job of rebounding well from the perimeter. I definitely think she’s a kid who fits a variety of roles in most lineups.
Alyssa Bartlett, 2025, 5-7 PG, Southeast Polk H.S. (IA)
Alyssa is a really nice, young guard who could turn into a quality prospect long-term. She has an athletic frame, deceptive length, and she is a nice on-the-floor athlete with some speed and quickness. I just really like the pace she plays at, she doesn’t force the action, and she seems to always play with her head up scanning the floor. She has some touch around the perimeter, but she almost prefers to run offense or attack and facilitate. Alyssa also has a quiet, steady toughness to her, and she doesn’t seem to get rattled easily.
Amani Jenkins, 2025, 6-1 C, Des Moines North H.S. (IA)
I was very impressed with Amani’s play yesterday, and I think she has a great deal of potential for the next level. She has a long, athletically strong frame, good hands, solid footwork, good balance, and she seems to work hard each possession. She runs the floor well, will battle and be physical inside when she needs to, but she also has some finesse in her game. She can be a back-to-the-basket big, and she has a couple of solid moves and counters, but she also has good skill in the mid-post.
Ava Zediker, 2025, 5-8 PG, Dowling Catholic H.S. (IA)
Ava is an extremely long, wiry, somewhat thin, but quick/fast prospect with a lot of skill. She plays with some “shake” in her game, she glides somewhat effortlessly around the floor, and she’s constantly making plays for herself and others. She can shoot it consistently from the perimeter, but I still think it’s her ability to get inside the defense and find teammates that makes her stand out. She’s also very active defensively, and she uses her length and quickness well to hound opponents and to affect passing lanes.
