For all of these players on the list, it wasn’t just the scouts who took notice – college coaches reached out to many of them for the very first time. It’s an exciting group of young players. Let’s take a look!
Jazmin Adams Jazmin Adams 6'1" | PF Putnam City West | 2023 State OK | 6-1 F/C | Choctaw / Below The Rim | 2023 | @JazzJ2023
Jazmin entered the summer as our No. 44-ranked player in the class of 2023. I have to say, that ranking was WAY off. She will be moving up very soon. Adams has come a long way since the first time that I saw her play – mainly in the area of her confidence. The ability was always there, but playing on a team full of outstanding players in Below The Rim has helped immensely. Finding a way to stand out on that team is not easy and she has done just that. She uses her size very well inside and basically will not take no for an answer. When she decides to score down low, she is GOING to score – most likely with a free throw coming at the end. Adams is a tremendous post player and has shown the ability to his from mid-range and outside, too. Though she was overlooked in the previous rankings, several big time schools have taken notice over the course of the summer. Jazmin has picked up offers from Eastern Michigan, Bryant and Missouri S&T with undoubtedly more to come.
Karrigan Powell Karrigan Powell 6'0" | SF Putnam City North | 2022 State OK | 5-10 SF | Putnam City North / THSS Mavs Elite | 2022 | @karrigan_powell
Powell is our No. 26-ranked player in the class of 2022, so clearly we had some idea of her ability. That being said, she has shown up this summer and really turned some heads. Karrigan is a great defender who can guard spots one through five with no noticeable weakness against the size of the post players or the quickness of the guards. Powell is also just as versatile in her offensive play with the ability to score from all three levels. She has the size to bang underneath and the touch to step out and hit from deep. She is a baller, plain and simple. She has found a way to show out on an absolutely loaded grassroots team, THSS Mavs. Karrigan recently received an offer from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and it is well deserved. Congrats!
Jill Twiehaus | 5-8 G | Jenks / Swift | 2024 | @Jill_Twiehaus
Perhaps the biggest surprise on this whole list – as far as rankings are concerned – is Jill Twiehaus. After seeing her perform on the PGH Circuit with her Oklahoma Swift squad, I already knew that she was going to be ranked – probably pretty freaking high – when the new iteration of rankings came out. Apparently a lot of college coaches saw the same thing that I did when they tuned into the livestream. Jill can hit from deep in droves. She drained six or more in several games that I watched personally. She is probably taller than her listed 5-8 now and no matter what her height, she has tremendous length. She is quiet on the court verbally, but her play does plenty of talking. She goes hard with very good handles and flashes into every single play. She rebounds and defends as well as anyone on her team and is integral to what the Swift do – which is usually win every game they’re in. Twiehaus recently received offers from D-I McNeese State and D-II Newman. Heading into her sophomore year, she will be added to the rankings and I have no doubt that there are plenty more offers on her way!
