Within just one full year of operation, the program has grown to 17 total teams across four tier player development program. Bronze, silver, gold and platinum level teams, with 6 girls teams offered. Sitting courtside all weekend I had the opportunity to see and get to know the players and staff from the 16u group who eventually went on to capture the 2021 Hoop Group New England Jamfest championship! This very exciting group played for each other all weekend, here are a few standout players that made a huge impact on the championship run.
Amayah Rosado 5”6/combo guard/ Enfield high school/ 23”
A strong versatile guard who can score at all three levels, she is a terrific and consistent finisher who gets down hill and attacks the basket aggressively. Amayah has a consistent mid range jumper and can knock it down from three. When she starts hitting from outside she is a matchup nightmare. She is a strong and capable offensive rebounder with interior presence. A 2x all CCC player with 3.2GPA.
Charlotte Jordan 5”7/Guard/ Coventry high school/ 23”
Charlotte is an intelligent and hard working player who is elite on both ends of the floor. She is a floor general and facilitator with the ability to lead a team. She is a strong outside shooter who can beat players off the dribble and has a variety of ways to finish at the rim. As a guard, Charlotte can score with her back to the basket and consistently demonstrates outstanding decision making to get teammates shots. A good defender that really takes pride on that side of the ball, she reads the game well and places herself in the right position to get many deflections throughout the game. This 2x NCCC and 2021 all-state selection also boost a 3.9 GPA
Anaka Eaton 6’0/ center/ Coventry High school/ 24”
Anaka is an under the radar interior presence in the NCCC who is looking to make a big splash in 21-22. She is an outstanding rebounder, who dominates the offensive and defensive glass against players of all sizes. Her ability to catch and finish was put on display at a high rate throughout the weekend. Anaka is an outstanding passer who consistently finds shooters on the perimeter. Her biggest upside is she has great natural footwork, is intelligent and very coachable. Her ceiling is as high as anyone in the club.
Sydney Marshall 5’11/ Forward/ Enfield High School/ 24”
Sydney is arguably the best all around athlete of this group. An outstanding defender who can guard all 5 spots on the floor. With great defensive instincts she causes many deflections and is a vital asset in any pressing situations. Her ability to lead the break is very impressive and typically makes sound decisions in transition. Sydney has the ability to be an elite shot blocker. She is an eager learner, hard worker and has incredible upside as a rising sophomore next season.
