These point goddesses excelled in their roles and were invaluable to their teams.
Angelica Velez-2023-New Heights NYC 17U
She is the lead guard for a good, well-coached team. She communicates constantly with her teammates whether she is on/off the floor. If you are a shooter, this is the type of point guard you want to play with. She is selfless, an extension of the coach on the court and makes her teammates better. Velez could score 20 a game, but gave up open shots to get great shots for her team. She directs the offense, plays tough defense and holds herself and her teammates accountable. Most impressive was her leadership, when not in the game she is encouraging and cheering on her teammates. She is the first one off the bench to celebrate the success of her team.
Ereauna Hardaway-2022-MAVS Elite
Came up big for her team down the stretch of game against FBC United. She had a tough and 1, followed-up by a mid range jumper. She controlled the flow of the game, put her teammates in position to be successful and demonstrated outstanding leadership. She is quick, high IQ, utilizes change of direction well and reads the defense well and made several nice interior passes for assists.
Reniya Kelly-2023-FBC United
Versatile lead guard for a FBC team that is loaded with Power 5 talent. This young lady does a great job with game management, handling pressure and staying locked in defensively on opposing teams top guards. She does an excellent job of changing pace and direction, taking care of the ball and delivering good passes to put her teammates in position to be successful. She has a strong body, no problem breaking down defenders and getting to the basket at will. She is also a knock down three point shooter.
Soraya Ogaldez-2025- FBC NW Savages
Lead guard capable of putting up big numbers. She is equally effective running the point or playing off the ball. She is a good three point shooter, reads the defense well and gets in the lane whenever she wants. She is crafty, quick and has the ball on a string. She showed her ability to break down defenses and finish herself or create easy buckets for her teammates. Also a strong defender, she can guard the length of the court. She is playing up in the 17u division, hard to believe she hasn’t played a high school game yet! Soraya is a rising star in the 2025 class.
Victoria Morales-2022-Mass Lady Rivals
Quick, fast, can handle pressure and sees the court well. Plays with a lot of confidence and communicates with her team. She is a tough competitor, can get to the rim and finish through contact.
