After checking out the 17U and 16U rosters, we’ve made our way back to the 15U team, one that’s been extremely impressive to follow.
Join us as we go to the tape to see what other players have stood out and why they’ve made a name for themselves with the high school season coming up quickly.
We start our second look at the 15U squad with rising sophomore Lia Villa, a 5-8 guard from Marlboro who’s shown a lot of promise at both ends of the floor.

Starting with her offense, she proves to be a reliable shooter and will continue to develop her outside shot, which already looks fantastic. She has a balanced heat map when it comes to shooting as she excels well in the interior and posts up on the midrange game.
Her defense is something to really keep an eye on as her close-out speed allows for lots of steals, forced turnovers and blocks. Villa is a stout defender and her court awareness puts her ahead of the pack. Good luck trying to score on her.
Complementing Villa in the guard position is rising sophomore Emily Tvrdik, a 5-8 guard from Wall HS. Tvrdik is an excellent perimeter shooter and excels shooting the three from either win on the offensive end.

She has all the makings of a spot-up shooter, moving really well without the ball and getting herself in great spots for open looks at the basket. Along with her ability to shoot, she’s finding her groove to become that multi-faceted guard.
We saw glimpses of that in her freshman season, but with more game and playing experience, the better she’s going to become, and we’re really going to see that next jump this fall.
The last player we’ll talk about in this article is rising sophomore Jineen Ayyash, a 5-8 guard from Red Bank Catholic. The Caseys have become a program we’ve talked about often as one of the best high school programs in the state in recent years.
Ayyash saw limited time on the floor last season, but this season is the time for her to prove herself on the floor, and she’s been impressive so far in the AAU circuit, showing that she can drive to the net well and score in the interior.
RBC will need Ayyash to command the possession from the top of the key, and she’ll be working on her craft there for the rest of the summer to prepare for this upcoming season.
We have more players across more programs to take a look at this summer, so stay tuned as the summer winds down for more content.
