I wanted to give a quick preview of some of the kids that I saw over multiple different age divisions that I think are still young enough to continue to improve and grow over the upcoming years.
2024 #20 PG 5’7″ Ashna Tambe Ashna Tambe 5'7" | CG Hockaday | 2024 State TX – (Texas Elite Legacy 16u 3SSB)
Ashna has a lot of poise throughout the entire game no matter the situation. She is long for her height and really likes to run around and cause a commotion. Tambe is the first player back on defense on almost every play if she is not up putting pressure on the inbounder or other team’s point guard. Has the ability to get herself out of a bad situation or oncoming trap. Her team can feel comfortable when the ball is in her hands.
2025 #33 6’0″ Laynee Stanley – (Arkansas Banshees Sadler)
Laynee is a young big that is playing a year up with a lot of potential to continue to expand her game and improve her skills over the next few years. She is a very vocal leader for her team and is the first person to give credit where the credit is due on the court. Probably was the most vocal player that I saw throughout the whole tournament whether she was on the court or not. She battles hard on both ends of the court and works hard down low. Followed her shot for a few offensive rebounds that led to an assist or points for her. Tries to do the little things right by staying straight up on defense or splashing the open three-pointer when she is left open. Stanley seems like a genuinely good kid.
2026 #12 C 6’2″ Oliviyah Edwards – (Northwest Greyhounds Black)
Edwards is six-foot-two and ATHLETIC with very high D1 potential. This is a kid that should be on every college coach’s radar if she is not already. She is a long, skilled player that gives it her all on both ends of the floor. Led her team in both offensive and defensive rebounds and will stay up on defense to get the ball tipped back after a made basket. Has the ability to work the defender down low and secured a few big-time blocks against some highly ranked 2022’s. Explosive player.
2026 #23 SF 5’8″ Brooklyn Haywood – (Northwest Greyhounds Black)
Brooklyn is a player that has a lot of confidence for playing up 2 age divisions. She can handle the ball well and shoot the lights out of the gym. Has good control of the ball with either hand, can drive hard, and can finish around the rim through traffic with ease. She has plenty of time to perfect her craft and I am looking forward to following her over the next few years to see her growth.
