Basketball fans in the Palmetto State on the ladies side should be very excited with the talent in the year coming up. The 2024 Palmetto State class has plenty of talent from top to bottom in the rankings. Prep Girls Hoops is taking a look at some of these players with the new school year approaching. Lets take a look at some of these 2024 Combo Guards here in the State of South Carolina.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="175308" first="Raina" last="McGowens"] - Wren HS (Piedmont) (pictured on front) </strong>
McGowens had a solid summer playing with FBC Carolina on the Grassroots Circuit. McGowens is like having a coach on the floor with her play in the backcourt and decision making. Raina can knockdown shots when needed and at times can really fill up a scoresheet. McGowens averaged 15.2 ppg, 5.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.2 steals last season for the Lady Hurricanes (13-4). Raina has already played 3 years of varsity basketball entering her sophomore season with 71 games played and 664 points.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="171805" first="Alayah" last="Birch"] - Northwood Academy (Summerville) </strong>
Birch helped the Lady Chargers get back to the SCISA Class 3A State Championship this past season once again. Alayah really sees the floor well and seems to be best when attacking the basket. Birch brings a great competitive edge to the floor at all times and willingness to win. Alayah averaged 15.4 ppg, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season for the Lady Chargers (15-4).

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="255966" first="Yannah" last="Seaberry"] - First Baptist (Charleston) </strong>
Seaberry made the move over to the Lady Hurricanes this summer from nearby Palmetto Christian Academy. Yannah can really extend the defense with her shot making on the perimeter. Yannah likes to use a crossover move to get by defenders while bringing a stingy attitude while defending on the ball. Seaberry really anticipates very well in the passing lanes.

Khalil will be a new name in the SCISA ranks this season after transferring into Hammond from nearby River Bluff HS. Samira feels comfortable playing on the ball or off the ball knocking down shots on the perimeter. Khalil averaged 11.6 ppg last season in a short season for the Lady Gators.

Collins will look to be more of a focal point of the Lady Yellow Jackets program this season. Collins ran on the Grassroots Circuit with IDreams.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="185221" first="Tacoya" last="Heyward"] - Bluffton HS </strong>
Heyward plays a bit off the grid down in the Lowcountry at Bluffton HS. Heyward averaged 12.4 ppg, 5.9 rebounds, 4.9 steals and 4.7 assists last season for the Lady Bobcats. Heyward didn’t play on the Grassroots Circuit this summer after nursing a toe injury.
