I recently published my 700th article for Prep Girls Hoops. In honor of all of you sticking with me for over 700 articles, I’m going to give you 7 sure fire future college post players.
* This isn’t a best of list, merely a list of 7 players that I chose, that I’m sure can/will play at the next level.
Katelyn Baney Katelyn Baney 6'2" | PF Paw Paw | 2024 State MI (2024, PF, Paw Paw)
Baney is a special talent that has the attention of D1’s. She sets solid screens that gives her guards space and rolls off them with her hands up and pass ready. Baney gains position under the rim with physicality and keeps the ball high on offensive rebounds, making the put back attempt easier and more efficient.
Mallory Bohl Mallory Bohl 6'3" | C Saline | 2024 MI (2024, C, Saline)
Bohl is a multi sport star that could have options in both volleyball and basketball if that’s what she chooses. She’s long and tall and does a nice job altering shots from under the rim. Bohl plays a good vertical defensive game.
Makenna Clement Makenna Clement 6'1" | PF Lake Fenton | 2023 State MI (2023, PF, Lake Fenton)
Clement is, quite simply, one of the best overall rebounders in the state of Michigan. As soon as a shot goes up, she can be seen maneuvering and fighting for positions. Clement also has the ability to step out on offense and stretch the floor.
Elyssa Kincaid Elyssa Kincaid 5'11" | PF Riverview | 2023 State MI (2023, PF, Riverview)
Kincaid is that do it all type forward that every coach wants and needs. Need a big defensive stop? I saw her get them this summer. Need a clutch bucket? I saw her make those this summer too. Oh yeah, don’t forget that Kincaid is as tough mentally and physically as they come.
Payton Lee Payton Lee 6'4" | C Anchor Bay | 2023 State MI (2023, C, Anchor Bay)
Lee is a high upside post prospect. She plays with her back to the bucket and can score over either shoulder. Lee catches the ball and uses a very quick spin move to evade her defender. The time between her post catch, post move, and the shot going up is very minimal. There’s a lot to see here for coaches at the next level.
Jordan Peterson Jordan Peterson 5'10" | PF Belleville | 2024 State MI (2024, PF, Birmingham Groves)
College coaches, are you looking for tenaciousness on the glass? Well, here you go. Peterson walked into high school basketball last year expecting to grab every rebound every game. She stalked the backside of the glass and grabbed every board possible.
Sarah Rambus Sarah Rambus 6'4" | PF IMG ACADEMY | 2023 State FL (2023, PF, Flushing)
Rambus has been making waves in the recruiting world, picking up numerous high major offers. She’s a truly special talent with length and athleticism for days. Very rare is the player that can combine Rambus’ height, reach, ability to run the floor, and defensive prowess.
