John McGraw’s Atlanta Summer Slam is one of my favorite events to attend every summer. I can always count on catching some good bump and some prospects I have not seen before. 2021 was no different. Here is a look at some of the players that stood out to me.
[player_tooltip player_id="148131" first="Skylar" last="Jones"], Mac Irvin Fire
This was my first time seeing Skylar but definitely not my last. She is a one woman press, because at 6’1" with ridiculous speed and length, she covers a lot of ground and has great instincts. She is smooth lefty that should not be pegged into a position because she can do so much. She got to the hoop at will and stepped into long threes. She’ll collect a big bag of Power 5 offers.
Tahj- Monet Bloom, Mac Irvin Fire

Tahj is 6’3" with excellent footwork, a strong handle and great finishing moves in the paint. She has a sweet mid range game and is strong on the boards. She showed great versatility and decision making by snatching a rebound and going coast to coast, setting a teammate up for a bucket. Big time prospect.
[player_tooltip player_id="265965" first="Xamiya" last="Walton"], Mac Irvin Fire
Definitely one of the best shooters I saw all summer. She has a tight handle that allows her to create separation and she doesn’t need much room to get a 3 pointer off. 5’8" point guard that has a nice mid range game as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="311549" first="Bailey" last="Gilmore"], FBC Nightmares Teal, 2023
Bailey is a 6’3" big that attacks the rim aggressively and often. She tries to get every rebound. She covers a lot of ground defensively. and is very imposing in the paint. She moves her feet well enough to defend on the perimeter which was a problem for opposing wings and guards. She stepped out and knocked down a couple of three pointers so there is potential for her offense to emerge even more. Excellent prospect with a great attitude when I spoke with her.
E’Zaria Adams, FBC Nightmares Teal, 2024
Ezaria was electrifying in transition, showing off a nice handle, speed and the ability to finish in traffic. She has an explosive first step and gets past defenders with ease. Her elite body control allows her to finish over and around defenders. She is an excellent floor general that reads defenses well and attacks accordingly. Very fun player to watch.
[player_tooltip player_id="245307" first="Karli" last="Haworth"], Tennessee Flight Trotters 2023
One of the best guards I saw all summer. She never picked up her dribble and that was a problem for any defender in front of her because they couldn’t stay in front of her for long. She used all kinds of escape and hesitation dribbles to break any heavy defensive pressure and then find an open teammate or score herself. She scored a lot, mostly on layups or midrange shots because she didn’t really need to shoot from distance. Really athletic and exceptional in transition.
[player_tooltip player_id="291158" first="Nevaeh" last="Brown"], MD Lady Shooting Stars, 2023
Super athletic 5’9" wing prospect. She caught my eye with some of the plays she made with ease. She has a good motor and really went hard on defense. With some improved ball handling she could become a very versatile contributor at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="291162" first="Saniya" last="Hymes"], MD Lady Shooting Stars, 2023
Saniya is an athletic power forward with some potential. She looks way more comfortable putting the ball on the floor and finishing in traffic than she did a year ago. Her defensive instincts have improved as well. She should have a solid season at Old Mill High.
Le’Asia Foreman, Boo Williams Kelly
Le’Asia is a really tough guard with strong pull up, mid range game. She finished in traffic a number of times through contact and got to the rim frequently. She is a real floor general and a tenacious defender. She is signed to play at Hampton University next season.
