Mia Davis Mia Davis 6'0" | SG Dream City Christian | 2023 State #12 Nation AZ is a six-foot-one shooting guard and small forward who recently transferred from Xavier Prep to Dream City Christian School in Glendale. She spent her freshman and sophomore years at Xavier Prep and will now have her junior and senior years playing for her father, Prileu Davis, who was selected as the team’s head coach. The former coach at Mia’s grassroots team, Basketball Science Prep, Prileu is a personal trainer for rising young basketball players. As a freshman at Xavier Prep, she averaged 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds. In her sophomore year, she improved those numbers to 11.6 and 4.8.
Between December 2019 and January 2021, Mia won five Player of the Game awards, as selected by Max Preps. She has been voted as an elite prospect by ESPN for 2023. One coach had this to say about her game. “She is a very skilled guard prospect that can play anywhere on the floor and is a nightmare match-up for opposing defenders. She can score the basketball with excellent range on her shot. She makes players around her better which is absolutely rare for a prospect her age. She is a well-rounded fundamentally sound performer with a lot in her offensive bag. Mia is also a strong and active rebounder that is not afraid to mix it up inside.”
A number of colleges have shown interest in Mia at the next level including three blue blood programs – Stanford, Oregon, and Connecticut. With two more years of high school and now playing with DCC and a national schedule, she is only going to improve.
Miyah Verse is a six-foot power forward for Arizona Elite Prep. She also plays for her grassroots team, Arizona Elite. A transfer from Flagstaff High School, she played her freshman and sophomore years at Flagstaff, averaging 13.5 points as a freshman and 13.2 as a sophomore. Her rebounding numbers were 9.7 as a freshman and 9.8 as a sophomore. Miyah had a career-high 28 points as a freshman in a playoff win over Coconino. She already has had college scholarship offers from California-Santa Barbara and UNLV.
Arizona Elite Coach Brian Porth had this to say about Miyah. ” She is a great kid. She listens, works hard, and is a very coachable team player. In a grassroots game, Miyah knocked down mid-range jumpers, had solid box-outs, and also explosive execution off the box out for a rebound displaying her newest tool. That is, a spin move off of the dribble to the hoop. She is also a legitimate dunker.”
Miyah also carries a 3.3 GPA. One scout referred to her as a “humble, respectful, appreciative and determined player who works to a point where success is achieved. This young lady has an upside that goes from here to the moon.” More offers will be coming in as she begins her junior year at Arizona Elite Prep.
Kiley Sours Miller Kiley Sours Miller 6'3" | C Dream City Christian | 2023 State AZ is a six-foot-three junior at Centennial High School in Peoria. She also plays for her club team, Arizona Elite. As a freshman, she averaged 16.4 points per game and 17.9 rebounds while shooting 62% from the floor. Last season, as a sophomore, she averaged 16.6 points and 16.2 rebounds. She is considered the state’s number one ranked center for the class of 2023. In her first game as a freshman, Kiley had a double-double: 34 points and 20 rebounds while hitting on 16 of 17 field goals. In two seasons with the Coyotes, she has amassed 643 points and 669 rebounds. By her senior year, she should extend both to over 1,000.
From December 2019 to February 2020, Kiley was awarded Player of the Game by Max Preps a total of 16 times. She is considered one of the best rebounders in the state. Her former coach, Prayer Branham, said, “I would say the easiest part about coaching is her work ethic. It’s very rare that I have to get on her about working hard. That’s honestly the ideal player you look for. In the next five to ten years, she is going to be a star. I truly believe she is going to play at the collegiate level.”
Throughout the spring and summer, Kiley played in a number of grassroots tournaments for Arizona Select. One coach commented on her game. “She has soft hands and catches everything thrown her way while being able to use her body and strength to finish in the paint. She is tough and never backs down.” With two years left with the Coyotes, there is no end to her upside.
Hannah Young Hannah Young 6'0" | PF Valley Vista | 2023 State AZ is a six-foot power forward for Xavier Prep in Phoenix. She also plays for her grassroots team, Arizona Select 15U. Last year she was coming back from a knee injury and averaged just 2.9 points per game and 4.2 rebounds. Xavier Prep finished 13-4 and 6-2 in their conference, eventually losing to state champion Valley Vista in the powerful 6A conference. She is projected as an outstanding player ready to come into her own. Her mother Robin had this to say about Hannah. “Her immeasurable mechanics, coupled with her length and wingspan have progressed considerably in recent years and her potential is outstanding.”
“We call her the clean-up woman,” Robin said of her daughter. “She has gone from a shooting guard to a power forward in making the transition to the 15 and under division. She makes moves to the basket and finishes when getting the ball in the post. Her rebounding and mid-range jumper have improved along with her putbacks.” Hannah made Honorable Mention in the 6A conference as selected by AZPreps365. With two years remaining in her high school career and the Xavier Prep team loaded with talent, they could make a run for a state title in both 2022 and 2023.
