No disrespect to the eventual champion runner-up Minnesota Fury, this game had the championship buzz! The atmosphere was so electric even parents that didn’t even know too much about baseball stopped and watched! If people could have paid for this particular game it would have been sold out! This game was in since the changing of the guard between teams as well. With these two teams all years it’s been an A team versus B team narrative from an outside view. But what unfolded was upset, or is that the case? Probably at one time the most elite of talent to play in a Live period that I know for sure that I ever saw. FBC The Family came out victorious in a great game and here are the top players from the two teams that day!
Joyce Edwards Joyce Edwards 6'3" | PF Camden | 2024 State SC | FBC The Family
No doubt Joyce was the MVP of that game! She came up huge the entire game! She hit key shots when it looked like the game was going to get away from her team. The biggest shot of the game was when she hit a three-pointer in the corner to put her team up to stay! 6’2 Joyce had a coming-out party to let all the coaches know is one of the best stretch four’s in the 24 class!
Ashlyn Watkins Ashlyn Watkins 6'4" | PF Cardinal Newman | 2022 State #11 Nation SC | FBC United
Just an elite athlete her broad shoulders had to carry the load for her team! Ashlyn looks like a second-year college player. When she went on a fast break or even a layup the crowd got on their tippy toes to see if she was going to dunk the ball! Ranked in the top 15 of ESPN high school rankings in the 22’ class it will be interesting to see where she land in college!
Zamareya Jones| FBC The Family
Zamareya was the emotional lead out there on the floor for her team for sure! In one play she hit a big-time step back three pounded her chest as she walked back on defense! FBC The Family needed and feed offer energy because she was one of the go-to players when they needed a bucket! It’s so scary to believe that she has two seasons of AAU basketball left not a big guard, but I guess you don’t have to be one when you are a natural at basketball!
Reniya Kelly| FBC United
Only a Junior but she handles herself like a pro. She has all the leadership characteristics that college coaches are looking for. The pressure of the game never got to her. She had the same demeanor on her face the whole game helped opponents off the floor and ran her team. With a team loaded like United, you will need a player like her on your team.
Jaloni Cambridge Jaloni Cambridge 5'8" | PG Ensworth | 2024 State FL | FBC The Family
Not my first time seeing her but this upcoming sophomore is the fastest ball-hander I have seen this year! Only at 5’7 thin frame is elite ball-handling skills and athleticism. When she was in the game it was pick and roll left or right my athlete versus your athlete, and she had more than her share of wins one-on-one! An when you try to go under the screen or don’t step up on her she will hit the three-pointer!
Milaysia Fulwiley Milaysia Fulwiley 5'8" | PG Keenan | 2023 State #9 Nation SC | FBC United
Ranked number two ESPN class of 2023 she relatively had a quiet game but when it came to ooh’s and ahhhh’s she did not disappoint! In the first half, Zamareya Jones lost her defender and shot a floater. Milaysia saw it from her help-side defensive position looked like she had a 40inch vertical leap and blocked it to the next court! Wow! In the second half, she had a drive and cradled the ball in the air for the lay-up. Phenomenal athlete still has one more year and AAU left unbelievable!
