Continue ReadingRockIt summer league has provided an opportunity for young ladies to get back on the court and compete. The atmosphere has been positive, parents have been supportive and many athletes are sticking around the gym watching games. The play has improved weekly as the ladies get more familiar with one another. There are a lot of young players, especially in the 2025 class. I have enjoyed watching the young talent as well as older players who have made steady improvement over the years. The players noticed this week are a mix of young talent and some rising seniors heading into their final season.
Isis Keneah-2022-Deep Run High School
Rising senior, athletic combo guard plays equally well on or off the ball. Without a definitive PG, Isis fills in nicely for her team. She is the vocal leader, gets her teammates in position and makes the right reads.. Can shoot consistently from 3pt range, but is most effective getting in the lane and finishing at the rim. Explosive first step, takes advantage of slow help side rotations.

-2025-Glen Allen High School
Intriguing prospect, standing at 6’1 and still growing. Post player who can stretch the floor out to the 3pt line. Still very raw, with tons of upside. Her game is still developing offensively, she has a good foundation of post moves and range on her shot. Defensively is where she is making the most impact on the court, she is active, moves her feet well and talks to her teammates. She does a good job blocking shots without fouling.
Diamond Brown-2022-Henrico High School
Strong, physical player. She can shoot the 3, buy is best at slashing to the basket. She is the leader of a young Henrico squad that missed last season due to COVID. She is capable of handling lead guard responsibilities, sees the court well and very unselfish. Would like to see her look to be more aggressive offensively, getting into the paint and drawing fouls.
Ava Fulkerson-2025-St. Gertrude High School
Only a rising freshman, but you couldn’t tell by the way she plays on the court. Mature game, has improved in all areas of her game since I first saw her two years ago. Primarily playing the PG position, she has strong handle and good passer. She does not need to be a primary scoring threat on this squad, but don’t leave her open she will make you pay. I look forward to seeing her growth this upcoming season.
Cherese Lampkins-2022-St. Gertrude High School
When I first saw Cherese play she was primarily in the post with limited range. Three years later, she has developed into a solid wing prospect. She has good size at 6’, consistent midrange shot and has worked on her range to the 3pt line. Enjoyed watching her push the ball in transition, her ball handling has improved and she has always been a good rebounder.
