The one-day event was an opportunity for plenty of girls basketball talent from across the region – including both Carolinas – to sharpen their skills and impress the coaches and scouts that were on hand.
We at Prep Girls Hoops were also on hand in Concord for the event – as well as several noteworthy names from the Palmetto State. Here is a look at who got our attention.
Savannah Brooks Savannah Brooks 5'9" | CG Legacy Early College | 2022 State SC – Legacy Early College – 2022 – Brooks arrives in one state that is a girls basketball hotbed from another state that is a girls basketball hotbed as Maryland’s loss has become South Carolina’s gain. Her speed and ability to make shots from long range are two strong points of her overall game. Brooks has the skill of a classic floor general who can get from one end of the floor to the other with the ball in her hands quickly. She has no issues weaving her way through a sea of defenders en route to the basket. She was part of the inaugural girls basketball team at Springdale Prep in Carroll County, Maryland.
Nykeriasia Coleman – Lancaster HS – 2022 – From one star Palmetto State basketball fans will get well acquainted with to one they are already familiar with in Coleman. She possesses a high basketball IQ and can find high percentage shot opportunities near the rim. Coleman is also proficient at shooting the basketball – either at long range or in the mid range game. She will absorb her fair share of contact and get to the line for free throw tries. Her speed enables her to throw defenders off guard with the ball in her hands. Coleman is always a possibility to steal the ball as well.
Nadia Burns Nadia Burns 5'10" | SF Legion Collegiate | 2023 State SC – Legion Collegiate – 2023 – This is a name that jogs the memory from earlier in the travel season when we last saw Burns at the LBI Southern Memorial Showdown at Legacy Early College with SC Future. She displays her versatility with her ability to play either at guard or at forward. Burns can make thing happen in the paint either on offense or defense as she will reject shots or bring in rebounds. Burns gives her team plenty of points as well and some of those points can come by way of free throws after absorbing a bit of contact.
Delilah Soltys Delilah Soltys 5'11" | PG Mauldin | 2025 State SC – Mauldin HS – 2025 – The Mauldin Mavericks will be where Soltys calls her hoops home for the next several years after a middle school tenure at Hillcrest. One of many things Mauldin fans can get used to with Soltys is her ability to knock down 3-point shots. But Soltys’ first instinct with the ball in her hands is to find teammates and get them involved in the flow of the game. Soltys runs the floor very well and knows how to excel in the transition game. She will also give her team blocks if an opponent attempts to score on her near the rim.
