The class of 2022 does not have the depth of talent that past classes we have had from 2019, 2020 or even 2021, but there are still some recruitable prospects. Just two players are currently committed to mid major levels.
5’8 PG Veronica Sheffey Veronica Sheffey 5'8" | PG Woodinville | 2022 State WA (Woodinville HS) is PGH WA’s highest rated point guard in the class as she possesses a complete game. Sheffey has a strong handle, passing ability and she can knock down the jump shot. The lefty point guard is also a very good on ball defender sliding her feet and playing with active hands. She holds multiple Division 1 offers, but we have not seen any public commitment to date.
5’7 PG Mackendra Konig Mackendra Konig 5'7" | PG Jackson | 2022 WA (Jackson HS) is another prospect that has garnered some Division 1 looks. She played in the GUAA this past Summer with a program out of Canada. Konig is a quality scorer and facilitaor and she also competes on the defensive end. She is a big time scorer for Jackson High School.
5’7 PG Rosa Smith Rosa Smith 5'7" | PG Lake Washington | 2022 State WA (Lake Washington HS) is a very good offensive weapon with a strong skill set on that side of the ball. Smith is a three level scorer and can create her own shot off the bounce. She also fits in to the team concept as an unselfish player. She picked up multiple Division 1 offer after an outstanding Summer with EBC.
5’7 PG Mya Hatchett Groce Mya Hatchett Groce 5'7" | PG Pasco | 2022 State WA (Pasco HS) is fresh off an offer from NAIA school, University of the Southwest in Dobbs, New Mexico. Groce is a gritty competitor that handles and distributes, but can also score some as well. Her trademark defense is some of the better on ball defense in the state.
