These players have the skills and abilities to contribute this upcoming season to their respective varsity team if given the opportunity. Check out some impressive freshmen players below.
Hillary Shikuku | Guard | Collierville High School | 2025
A player that has a nice skill set can always set themselves apart from other players. Hillary displayed a number of skills that were impressive. She was strong in transition, can finish with either hand and you couldn’t foul her because she made her free throws. Hillary was also effective off the catch because she could be efficient and get where she wanted in 3 dribbles.
Paige Whitted | G | Collierville High School | 2025
Here’s another freshman player that impressed. Paige showed she can shoot the three-ball and has the handles to shift her defender to attack the paint. A lot of players can handle the ball well enough to attack the paint, but Paige had the vision to make the correct play either for herself or for her teammate. Her vision was on display in the half-court or when attacking in transition.
Alayiah Price | G | Academies of West Memphis | 2025
Alayiah just played with this coolness. Not in a bad way, but an unbothered let me show you kind of way. She just seemed to be one of those players that just showed up, put in work, and went on about her day. She showed she belongs on the floor with any high school player despite their grade. She made threes, created off the bounce, got out in transition, and showed effort on the defensive end.
Joya Crawford | Guard | Dyersburg High School | 2025
I was very impressed with this freshman player. She showed poise and that she can play at the varsity level this upcoming year. Joya has a good handle, can make the catch and shoot three, and made good decisions in the open court. On the defensive end of the floor, she also proved she has the potential to be a very good on-ball defender.
