Taryn Smith-5’6 G
Smith uses her body well to finish, loves contact, and understands how to create it and although she took a hard hit, I asked her if she was done and she said “oh no, I’m coming back” so there’s another of those intangibles,.mindset and that alone will jumpstart other things. She enjoys playing defense, a lost art and she played the passing lane not to leave out she scored off the dribble
Draden Moss-5’10 F
Moss plays the passing lane, I love seeing players do that, and since she can handle the ball, that led to baskets going the other way but she also rebounds and goes coast to coast for the finish, or dish yet she was also impressive playing defense “on the ball” and by her understanding how to force players into the trap spoke volumes for me
Morgan Williams-5’10 F
Williams is “long and athletic” it’s still the base I look at, so do many college coaches and they give scholarships but alas, at least for those she’s guarding, she applies baseline to baseline pressure, has good timing to black, alter and deflect shots as well as hands to pick-pockets, aka steal the ball while the player is dribbling. Her first step is nice, so are he finishes and upside
Ndia Shelby-5’11 F
Shelby was written up by me a while back and saw she was “scary for opponents” and one more time, I don’t just say things to attempt to sound clever, I actually know what I’m talking about and this young lady here is on the verge of something huge. She’s long and ultra-athletic, she just outruns opponents down to steal or block their shots, she elevates over them to rebound as well as score and her”ceiling has no roof” which to for the novice means her upside is unlimited
Indiana Pak-5’6 G
Pak applies a lot of pressure defensively, in fact, she enjoys playing defense, on the ball, baseline to baseline, she showed she could get the job done. She doesn’t reach, moves her feet well, and understands how to force the offensive player into the trap, that’s not easy at this stage yet she also showed she could play the passing lane as well as score off the dribble
Keyaira Limuel-5’10 F
Limuel is long and athletic yet gracefully finds ways to impress me with something different every time I see her play. Her defense is more than solid as she studies her opponent and makes them do other than what they want, she plays the passing lane and handles the ball under pressure, yep, that leads to baskets going the other way but she also scores off the dribble, after contact and has a nice pull-up jumper
