We have plenty more content coming your way as the high school season approaches, including our in-depth coverage of the top players in each class from our PGH NJ rankings.
The look at those rankings continues in this article, looking at the No. 29-31 prospects in the 2022 class.
No. 29 – Kya Joseph Kya Joseph 5'7" | SG Barnegat | 2022 State NJ : 5-7 SG, Donovan Catholic
The recent Donovan Catholic transfer showed a lot of consistency in her first season at DC in the spring, posting seven double-digit scoring performances along with some impressive perimeter shooting.
Joseph’s best high school season to date was her sophomore year while still at Barnegat, posting a double-double average on the season along with 17.6 PPG. She’s finally adjusted to the system at Donovan Catholic, which is a big plus going into this season.
With that adjustment period out of the way, Joseph is ready to absolutely dominate in all facets of the game in her senior season.
No. 30 – Dani Schlesinger Dani Schlesinger 5'9" | CG Marlboro | 2022 State NJ : 5-9 CG, Marlboro
Schlesinger has been a consistent, dominant force for Marlboro over the past three years, culminating this season as Marlboro had one of the best starts to a season in program history.
She’s been as advertised and then some and over the summer, playing for New Heights NYC, we’ve seen a further development of her game into an offensive juggernaut even more than before.
She’s consistently been a fantastic three-point shooter, but the combination of efficiency, agility and aggression has been a three-headed monster for Schlesinger. Expect another big-time season from her in the fall.
No. 31 – Amaya Evans Amaya Evans 5'5" | PG Neptune | 2022 State NJ : 5-5 PG, Neptune
Evans put on an absolute show this spring with Neptune, averaging 15.7 PPG and 3.8 SPG, her third-consecutive season of double-digit scoring and at least 2.0 SPG.
She’s a player who is going to be an absolute nightmare with perimeter defense as opponents are going to have a tough time getting through her into the lane. On top of that, she’s incredibly quick and can weave through defenders with incredible ease.
Expectations for Evans this season are high after the success she’s been able to sustain at Neptune, and joining the 1000 point club is well within reach. Is she can sustain her three-point shooting and find ways to get open on the floor, this season is surely another one of pure dominance.
