Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey has recently released its 2024 prospect list and talk about a deep list of prospects.
In this article, we’ll be talking about the No. 4-6 prospects on the list, talking a closer look and just what makes them stand out.
No. 4: Kylie Cabana Kylie Cabana 5'8" | SG Paramus Catholic | 2024 State NJ – 5-8 SG, Bogota
Cabana absolutely went OFF in her freshman season with Bogota, averaging 25.3 PPG and just over 10.0 RPG, dominating in every facet of the game she could. Averaging 25.0+ PPG as a freshman is absolutely insane.
This is a player who can beat you at just about every step of the game already and is a force to be reckoned with on the court. She exudes massive amounts of confidence and is so beyond scary to defend.
Then, you go to Cabana’s defense, which is just as dominant and will develop over the course of her high school career. If this is what she was able to do in a small sample size as a freshman, imagine what a full season of Cabana will look like.
No. 5: Hope Masonius Hope Masonius 5'9" | PG Manasquan | 2024 State NJ – 5-9 PG, Manasquan
Masonius comes from a great family of basketball talent, most notably her sister, Faith, who plays at the University of Maryland. Hope is carving her own path right now and her freshman year at Manasquan helped build the foundation.
On a roster loaded with talent, she was able to find herself a spot in the starting lineup, showing flashes of greatness on the floor with a combination of speed and smarts, playing a balanced game.
She’s already shown that she can run an offense at the point and knows how to control the tempo of the game well. Now, Masonius need to keep up the consistency and a full high school season, her first full season, will help that in a big way.
No. 6: Dagny Slomack Dagny Slomack 5'5" | SG Newark Academy | 2024 State NJ – 5-5 PG, Newark Academy
Slomack’s freshman year at Newark Academy was limited to just four games due to COVID, but in those four games, she averaged 13.3 PPG, 2.0 SPG and 3.5 made three-pointers a game.
While a small sample size, it shows us the type of production Slomack is destined to have in high school and we’ll be seeing her development in front of our own eyes.
Slomack has really improved her overall game over the summer with the New Jersey Sparks, so this coming fall, we’re expecting to see a breakout campaign from the sophomore.
