With those players we’ve formed a 1st and a 2nd all Expo Team, in this article we take a deeper look into the girls that form the 1st Team and what they did to make it on this list.
Macey Huard Macey Huard 6'2" | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO -Valor Christian
Macey Huard Macey Huard 6'2" | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO continues to build on her resume here in Colorado, which she added it during the Top 250 Expo. The high-scoring guard lit up the nets with her shooting to lead her team to a perfect record on the day. Macey is a more prominent guard who can score from all three levels; she gets to her spots and rises up over smaller defenders. However, her shooting abilities often overlook her willingness to use her handle to get teammates great looks in transition. As she goes into her junior year at Valor, with them being one of the top teams in the state, Macey will look to be a considerable part of them repeating in being state champs.
Mason Rowland Mason Rowland 5'8" | CG Durango | 2023 State CO – Durango
Mason Rowland Mason Rowland 5'8" | CG Durango | 2023 State CO was quickly my favorite girl from the Top 250 Expo. She was has the complete package offensively and was consistently a pest on defense. Throughout the day, Mason became a person you just had to sit and watch. She shoots the ball well and keeps defenders guessing with her shifty moves; she also is a lot fast than she appears to be, which makes her that much harder to guard. But, even with all that, most of her points come from the defensive end of the floor; she is a lockdown defender who doesn’t take lightly scoring.
Brooke Murrell Brooke Murrell 6'2" | PF Thomas Jefferson | 2023 State CO – Thomas Jefferson
Brooke Murrell Brooke Murrell 6'2" | PF Thomas Jefferson | 2023 State CO is a rising junior in the state and arguably the best one there is at 6’2; she has the size and length to make a difference on both ends of the floor. During the summer, we saw her recruit start to pick up heavily, receiving multiple D1 offers. So her coming to the Top 250 Expo was a great look for it being our first event. Brooke made the most of the time on the court. She has great hands around the rim, along with a soft touch. She can knock the 15-foot jumper consistency and is an undefeated rated passer in and out of the post. Defensively she moves her feet well and changes countless shots at the rim.
Nia McKenzie Nia McKenzie 5'11" | SG Eaglecrest | 2023 State CO – Eaglecrest
Nia McKenzie Nia McKenzie 5'11" | SG Eaglecrest | 2023 State CO has taken her game to another level this past summer, and it was on full display at the Top 250 Expo. She has always been a game-changing type of player, but she now has a different look on the game that makes her even more of a matchup nightmare. Nia can guard/play 1-4 was ease, and with that, it becomes hard to take her off the court. During Expo, she showed she could handle the ball as the lead guard and create for herself or get others open for good looks. She also rebounded the ball at a high level on the defensive end of the floor, limiting opportunities for opposing teams.
A’Neya Chambers A’Neya Chambers 5'10" | CG Cherry Creek | 2025 State CO -Cherry Creek
A’Neya Chambers A’Neya Chambers 5'10" | CG Cherry Creek | 2025 State CO was a player that took many of us by surprise with her play during the Top 250 Expo. The incoming freshmen looked right at home and fit in seamlessly. She is an athletic wing player that has a very mature game. A’Neya has excellent body control when attacking the rim, which gets her to the foul line. She is also a capable shooter with plenty of time to perfect her form and become more actuate from deep. With Cherry Creek losing girls to graduation, A’Neya should come in and immediately impact the team.
