Mya Cotto Mya Cotto 5'7" George Washington | 2023 CO – George Washington
Mya Cotto Mya Cotto 5'7" George Washington | 2023 CO was a girl that turned heads with her play at Top 250 Expo. She was aggressive on both ends of the floor and made winning basketball plays time and time again. At 5’8, her length allows her to be able to guard multiple positions on the court all while being active in passing lanes. With George Washington losing some girls to graduation, I expect Mya to have a huge increase in minutes which will allow her to put her full talent on display and with this event we were able to see what to expect from her this year.
Jasmyn Williams Jasmyn Williams 5'5" | CG Arvada West | 2022 State CO – Arvada West
Jasmyn Williams Jasmyn Williams 5'5" | CG Arvada West | 2022 State CO is as shifty as they come. She controls the tempo of the game every time she steps on the floor and never takes her foot off of the gas. During the Top 250 Expo, Jasmyn did most of her damage in the paint with a different combination of floaters and mid-range jumpers that kept bigs guessing. As her game starts to mature she has become more patient on the offensive of the end allowing her scoring to come more naturally. These additions will translate nicely going into her senior year as she looks to lead Arvada West into a deep playoff run.
Emma Christiano Emma Christiano 5'4" Las Cruces | 2023 CO – Las Cruces
Expo always tends to bring people from the region into town and in this case, Emma Christiano Emma Christiano 5'4" Las Cruces | 2023 CO from New Mexico came and did not disappoint. Emma is an aggressive, hard-nosed point guard that has no quit in her game. Throughout the day, she led her team in rebounds only standing at 5’2. Also, she may have been the peskiest defender on the day and forced other guards into tough shots. All while still being able to make all the right choices on the offensive end of the floor.
Brynn Price Brynn Price 5'8" | CG Roosevelt | 2024 State CO – Roosevelt
Brynn Price Brynn Price 5'8" | CG Roosevelt | 2024 State CO was easily one of my favorite girls to watch during the day. She has a great offensive feel for the game, and wasn’t rushed into bad shots or passes. Instead, she took what the defense gave her and got to her spots. Brynn displayed the ability to score from all three levels of the floor when needed as well as the IQ to create for others when the defense collapsed. The rising sophomore with surely be a name to know as the season approaches.
Briasia Johnson Briasia Johnson 5'4" | CG Denver South | 2023 State CO – Denver South
Briasia Johnson Briasia Johnson 5'4" | CG Denver South | 2023 State CO is an all-around athlete that didn’t show too many weakness in her game this past weekend. She is a bigger guard that is able to take smaller guards down in the post. She scoring the ball with ease from anywhere on the floor and is a much improved 3-point shooter. Once you combine her shot-making ability with her great vision, there wasn’t much anybody could do with her on the day. What may have gone unnoticed over the course of the day is her willingness to guard the opposing team’s best player time and time again.
