Every year a few new names come across the board and gain some extra attention. These ladies right here can play on the college level somewhere at the right level. All of these players play in the 2022 Class.
Lindsay Paukovitz Lindsay Paukovitz 5'3" | PG Fort Mill | 2022 State SC – Fort Mill HS (pictured on front)
Lindsay might not be the biggest, most athletic or fastest player on the floor. That’s absolutely no knock on her at all. She just plays the game to the fullest to her ability and she’s tough to take off the floor at times. Lindsay is a very vocal player with her teammates and always talking on the floor calling out screens and assignments. Lindsay puts herself in position on the floor to play a good amount of minutes every night.
Shy’an Cokley Shy’an Cokley 5'8" Calhoun County | 2022 SC – Calhoun County HS (St Matthews)
Cokley was all over the floor today with her constant hustle. Shy’an plays around the ball and always looks to be active on sides of the floor. Cokley played active in the passing lanes while picking up some deflections today. Shy’an averaged 18 ppg, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 steals last year for the Lady Saints.
Brianna Sams Brianna Sams 5'10" | SF Socastee | 2022 State SC – Socastee HS
Sams didn’t have to travel far over to the Myrtle Beach Sports Center to play today. Brianna played within her capabilities around the basket. Sams played with good aggressiveness and effort all day long. Brianna was able to sprinkle in some head fakes while scoring the ball close to the cup today. Sams played with her back to the basket and looked to post-up but at times she can step-out for a short corner jumper.
Deondra Darby Deondra Darby 5'6" | CG Orangeburg-Wilkinson | 2022 State SC – Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS
Darby really came out today swarming the ball on the defensive end of the floor. Deondra was able to get the ball to the cup and inside the paint today. Darby played aggressive all day long and when she was not connecting on some perimeter jumpers.
Zayniah Snow Zayniah Snow 5'7" | PG South Florence | 2022 State SC – South Florence HS
Snow made the move back to South Florence HS this season after playing last year at Trinity Collegiate. Snow was really able to change speeds to get by defenders on the way to the basket today. Zayniah is a capable shooter on the perimeter but seemed most effective when attacking the basket.
