College coaches are looking to lockdown their 2022 class after getting in their first full summer viewing in two years. There are still quite a few kids on the board and several that have been taken off. Some of the known players have risen their stock and there are others that used the time to make a name for themselves and get on the radar. Here’s to the latter.
Ranking New Comers:
Cara Loving – 6’3″ – Post – Riverdale Baptist #7
Cara has great size and a nice frame busting into the top ten at #7. Riverdale Baptist is looking to get back to the Crusaders glory years and having a dominant inside presence is just what Coach Shawn Wright will need as he takes his George Washington commit on a coast to coast tour with a national schedule.
Gabby Scott Gabby Scott 6'0" | SF Howard | 2022 State MD – 6’0″ – Wing – Howard #22
Gabby comes in at number 23. She has good length with a college frame. She will be staying close to home making the short trip to join Coach Diane Richardson at Towson. With her length and foot speed she can guard virtually any position in high school, there’s no doubt that versatility will be called upon at the next level.
Jalyn McNeill Jalyn McNeill 5'9" | SF Good Counsel | 2022 State MD – 5’8″ – Combo Guard – Good Counsel #23
Jalyn will be heading to Philly to join Amy Mallon’s roster next season, this year she will have a huge role to as the Falcon’s will use a deep and revamped roster to try for the WCAC title. Her athleticism and ability to handle both guard positions will prove valuable as she drops into the number 23 spot in the rankings.
Destiny Ward Destiny Ward 5'8" | SG Western Tech | 2022 State MD – 5’8″ – Shooting Guard – Western #33
Ward will be taking her sharpshooting skills up north to St. Francis (PA). She has good range from beyond the arc and when she’s locked in she can will her tem to victories single handedly. She has good size at guard and is a really good perimeter defender.
Alyssa Green-Buford Alyssa Green-Buford 5'10" | PF New Hope Academy | 2022 State MD – 5’10″ – Forward – Elizabeth Seton #49
Alyssa is an exceptional shot blocker with really good timing. She keeps her hands high and avoids swatting to pick up fouls. She plays well with her back to the basket and has a soft touch to finish. She can also face up with an effective mid range shot.
