JaNyla Bush JaNyla Bush 5'4" | PG Link Academy | 2024 State MO (Whitfield): The 2024 point guard is one of the top young floor generals in the state. She scored nine points on opening day and controlled the pace of play with her ball handling and elite passing skills. She knows her teammates are open before they know they are open.
Trinniti Matthews Trinniti Matthews 5'11" | SF Francis Howell Central | 2022 State MO (Francis Howell Central), pictured: The 5’11” 2022 combo forward was very effective when she was attacking the basket off the dribble. The lefty can get into the lane and play through the contact to score. She also uses her length on the defensive end to get deflections.
Rawan Alexander (Carnahan): A 2023 guard with a solid skill set who plays under control. She handles the ball well and she displayed a very nice pull up jumper in the mid-range area.
Jalynn Rook (Belleville West): A 2023 point guard who is quick and can penetrate into the lane with a variety of moves. She can blow by defenders with her speed or use her hesitation move to freeze them on her way to the basket. The lefty handles the ball well with both hands and she can score on a runner in the lane.
Lauren Bennett (Lift for Life): A 2023 forward who is a solid inside player. She has a nice shooting touch in the lane and she uses the backboard very well. She does a good job using her body to get good position inside to rebound at both ends of the court.
Ravin Jones (Vashon): The 2023 combo guard was one of the top defensive players that I saw during the day. She did a great job of providing consistent on-ball defensive pressure throughout the game. Her feet were constantly moving as she picked up opposing ball handlers the full court. I loved her energy and activity.
Jordyn Rowland (Kirkwood): A 2024 wing guard who has the size and skill level to be effective just about anywhere on the court. She is a solid ball handler who hit a Corner 3-pointer during the game. I also liked how she defended the low post inside as she battled for position against bigger players.
Kiera Burns (John Burroughs): A 2024 guard who did a nice job of doing a lot of the little things to help her team succeed in a game. She played good defense, hustled for loose balls and passed the ball well. She can also hit the open perimeter shot off the catch.
