Continue ReadingI recently had the pleasure of attending my first Iowa-based showcase put on by Nasir Shabazz. Nasir just started training and recruiting for Rip City Elite owned by Richard Hamilton. Quick drills has been a staple for the youth and the basketball community in the Quad Cities for years now. Helping many great athletes get better with basketball training. Their AAU program has helped countless hoopers get better. The event had a lot of quality ballers on hand for me to watch. Some of the best talent in the Quad Cities and the Illinois area were in attendance and put in some work.
Here’s a Breakdown of the Top 4 Girls in the gym!
Alivia McCorkle
West Team Top Performers
Alivia plays her AAU basketball for All Iowa Attack. 5’4” 115lbs. She’s a super shifty guard. Get’s downhill and pushes pace as well. Great all around game and scorer. Combo Guard that also defends and attacks great on defense as well. She’s going to be a problem on the court for years to come. Her aggressiveness is top notch on both sides of the ball and has a great attitude. She hopes to attend UCLA and looks up to Jada Williams Jada Williams 5'8" | PG Mason City | 2022 State IA . Will for sure be a D1 player. One of the Top 8th Graders in the state of Iowa.
Nakia Olliveria
Nakia is a strong, aggressive, high energy combo guard. Plays extremely tough on both ends of the court. Scores from all levels. Great passing ability as well. Quick hands and a sick pull up jumper. Very high basketball IQ. Amazing athleticism on defense. Get’s lots of turnovers and pushes and makes the right play.
Ka’Zaria Bell
East Team Top Performers
Bell is a growing versatile big that runs the floor very well. Great rim protector. Get’s you all the rebounds. Still raw but has a lot of upside. Really works hard on the court with her blue collar get it done work ethic. Already knows how to move in the post to get open and posts up extremely well.
Adalynn Voss
Voss is a extremely long point forward type. 5’6” 130lbs. She Can defend the bigs to the guards. Quick feet for her size. Great handles and can really score on all three levels. Gives you lots of effort on both sides of the ball. 1st game she hit 8 three’s easily put up 35 of her teams almost double nickel. Not just one great game but was a solid performer in all three games played. Future Star with a high motor at all times. Possible Davenport Assumption for high school ball. Players she models her game after are Sabrina Lonescu and Trey Young. Dream College is University Of North Carolina. Adalynn will play this winter for the Assumption Lady Hawks and Shockers.
