This past Saturday, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana held it’s Third Annual Top-250 Expo. As has been customary over the three years this event has taken place, multiple prospects from other states were in attendance. This year, Indiana hosted six ballplayers from four different states. Five were from neighboring states, while one prospect came all the way from West Virginia. Below is a look at what we saw out of each of those six young ladies.
Shelbie Beatty, 2022, 5-9 SG, Owensboro Apollo H.S. (KY)
– Shelbie had a really consistent day. I was able to see parts of two of her games, and she knocked down open shots and looked strong with the ball. She has nice length, a wiry-strong frame, and she moves around the floor fluidly. I also really enjoyed her motor and willingness to defend at a showcase event. I can envision her drawing a great deal of high-level small college interest with a strong Senior season.
Samiah Lynch, 2022, 5-11 SF, Oak Hill H.S. (WV)
– Samiah stands out almost immediately because she moves effortlessly around the floor. She has an extremely long, athletic frame, and she glides everywhere. She had moments where she looked like a point forward and initiated the offense or pushed it in transition, but she also knocked down a couple of long jumpers. I could see her drawing a wide range of interest, from Division-I schools and elite small colleges.
Morgan Riemenschneider, 2022, 6-1 PF, Fairfield H.S. (OH)
– Morgan is recognizable by her red hair and tough, physical interior play. She has a broad, strong frame, plus she’s a solid North/South athlete who plays with a motor and switches ends of the floor well. She showed the ability to use her strength around the low-block, finishing with a variety of moves, but she also possesses touch facing the basket in the mid-post. She should be on a lot of small college radars.
Karley Moore, 2023, 5-9 SG, Tipp City Bethel H.S. (OH)
– Karley had a few people asking which high school she went to, because no one recognized her. She was a standout all day, and she did it in a variety of ways. Karley is long, wiry, fluid, and somewhat bouncy. She played with a motor, and she multilevel scoring ability. She got to the basket with ease, plus she hit shots outside. I think she’ll draw a variety of interest from Division-I schools and elite small colleges.
Bailey Poole, 2023, 5-2 PG, Hancock County H.S. (KY)
– Bailey seemed to get better as the day went on and she got comfortable in the environment. She has speed and quickness, she plays with a feisty demeanor, but she also plays efficiently and takes care of the basketball. Offensively, she can act as a traditional point guard, but she also has really nice touch from the perimeter. If schools like smaller guards, then she’s a really nice small college floor general.
Kenzie Hales, 2024, 6-1 PF, Tri-County H.S. (IL)
– Kenzie is one of those wait-and-see kids, because I don’t think she’s done growing yet. She’ll eventually need to gain more strength, but she’s extremely long, fluid, and already wiry-strong in her frame. I really like her upside/potential, because she had moments where she flashed perimeter ability, and if she can be just a bit more dynamic skillfully, I think she can potentially become more of a wing prospect.
