The reigning scoring, rebounding and steals leaders in North Dakota. As well as many potential high Division 2 to Division 1 athletes. In this article we will discuss the top returning scorers who will make a huge impact for their teams come this season.
Adie Wagner Adie Wagner 5'7" | CG Fargo South | 2022 State ND – Fargo South – (5’7/PG/2022) – Returning top scorer from the EDC conference Adie Wagner Adie Wagner 5'7" | CG Fargo South | 2022 State ND looks to put on a clinic come this season. Wagner can put the ball in the hoop from anywhere on the court. Hand in the face, double teamed, face guarded or not it truly doesn’t matter. When you hear the word walking bucket the last name Wagner should come to your mind. She dropped a season high 31 points this past year against Grand Forks Central. Look for her to improve upon that performance in her senior campaign.
Miriley Simon Miriley Simon 6'1" | C West Fargo | 2023 State ND – West Fargo – (6’1/C/2023) – Miriley is a paint MONSTER!! She’s an absolute bully within 7ft of the rim and has a great arsenal to work with in backing down her opponents with great strength to positioning under the rim using either hand. She had 2 30 point games this year with a season high of 32 against Fargo South and racked in a total of 11 double-doubles. Look for the dynamic duo of Simon and Pfau to lead West Fargo to the top of the EDC standings come winter.
Chloe Pfau Chloe Pfau 5'11" | SG West Fargo | 2023 State ND – West Fargo – (5’11/SF/2023) – Pfau mentioned above in Simon’s segment is another player for West Fargo that can flat out score the ball. She had a career high of 28 against Moorhead Senior this past year and posted 4 double-doubles. Pfau is the type of player that can beat you in multiple ways ranging from posting up, ripping to the rim, stop and pop or spraying from the 3pt line. As her and Simon grow together for their Junior year look for them to really do damage in the race for top 3 in the EDC.
Brooke Eggermont Brooke Eggermont 6'0" | PF Valley City | 2023 State ND – Valley City – (6’/C/2023) – Brooke is what i’d like to describe as a “sneaky scorer” She doesn’t put up super flashy numbers until you look at the box score at the end of the game. She dropped a season high of 25 points against Fargo South in running the floor well and snagging a handful of offensive rebounds. She can really hurt a team that doesn’t box out well. Eggermont has a nice looking 3pt shot that you have to respect and carries decent ball-handling skills to get to the rim. Again, she’s nothing flashy, but really effective at what she can do.
Maya Metcalf Maya Metcalf 6'2" | PF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2023 State ND – Sheyenne – (6’/PF/2023) – Metcalf is a traditional power forward. She loves to play back to the basket and can really hurt teams that don’t have good interior defense or help side. She uses her length and great frame to put space between her and her defender in drop stepping her way to the rim. She has a sweet looking mid-range that stung Valley City this year in her scoring a season high 28. Maya is a player teams need to have on their radar as this year could be a breakout season for her.
