The event was one of the many Expos events held in many states that PGH is active in, seeing hundreds of girls in the day. Some of the best Wings/Forwards put on a show to watch. From a day that was drawn full of games, we will look at players that came out.
Lanae Riley Lanae Riley 5'11" | C Akron Hoban | 2022 State OH 5-11, 2022, Forward, Akron Hoban High School-
Riley has proved there are not many better than her at the forward spot. She has good size and strength. Around the rim uses her body well and does not stop. Since developing a good shot from the perimeter she is a problem all over the floor. Her awareness is a strong skill she possesses. She understands how to create for her teammates from the post. Developing tighter handles in transition, and showing that mid-range game will make this young lady a complete player.
Zennia Thomas Zennia Thomas 6'2" | PF Warrensville Heights | 2022 State OH 6-2, 2022, Forward, Warrensville Heights High School-
Thomas has developed so much confidence. She has developed a lot in her mid-range game. This young lady does a great job following her shot. She has good length and strength when she attacks. A player that can do things on the court that is typically guard-only responsibilities. Thomas is proving that she is as good as the girls in her class. A gem at 6’2 with her athletic ability, she will continue to get noticed.
Brooklyn Vaughn Brooklyn Vaughn 5'11" | SF Toledo Central Catholic | 2024 State OH 5-10, 2024, Forward, Toledo Central Catholic-
Vaughn is a very long and athletic player that finishes around the rim. She shows a lot in the way she runs the floor. Using her intangibles of size and length helps in her game. Finishes well in transition. This young lady can put the basketball on the floor. An area that I have watched her grow in is her ability to defend, oftentimes applying full-court pressure. She has size and length that make difficult shots look easy.
Savanah Laurenty Savanah Laurenty 5'10" Riverside | 2024 OH 5-11, 2024, Wing, Riverside High School-
This young lady displayed a lot of talent handling the basketball, dishing, and taking the right shots. Laurenty plays with a lot of passion and toughness. She needs to develop her strength and basketball IQ which will make her a difficult player to guard with her size and ability to play more than one position.
Caroline Hathaway Caroline Hathaway 6'0" | SF Bishop Fenwick | 2025 OH 5-7, Wing, 2025, Fenwick High School-
Hathaway is a player to keep eyes on. Her ability to finish off two feet is a rare sight to see from a player so young. She does good with purposeful dribbles before making her decision. The ability she has from the mid-range is impressive. Developing her strength will make her a better player for more opportunities with or without basketball.
