Provided a great opportunity for teams who don’t typically play during the regular season to get on the court together. Several games were competitive and there was a lot of talent on the court.
Olivia Wright-Manchester-2023
Olivia just keeps improving. I first saw Olivia when she started playing basketball in 8th grade. She has made significant progress in all areas of her game. She is athletic and has a strong, physical body. She can score on three levels and has some nice moves she utilizes to either get to the basket or pull up. She is a consistent shooter from 3, plays with poise and is a great addition on the wing for a strong Manchester team. Olivia is a rising talent in the class of 2023 and is ready for a breakout junior season.
Arshae Jackson Arshae Jackson 5'9" | SF James River | 2023 State VA -James River-2023
Versatile lefty with good court vision. Arshae was able to get into the paint utilizing a smooth hesitation and had good change of speed. Capable of playing any guard position, unselfish teammate who makes those around her better. Good rebounder, finishes well around the basket and consistent jump shot. Defensively, her length creates turnovers and deflections, she does a great job reading the next pass and getting steals that lead to easy buckets for herself and teammates. She is the leader of a young James River team that moves the ball well and plays with lots of energy.
Taylor Ethridge-Catholic-2023
I first saw Taylor play this summer in Atlanta, she was impressive then and has gotten better. She is a smooth shooter with good handles and crafty around the basket. Unselfish player who finds teammates cutting to the basket, gets into the paint and finds shooters on the wing.
Comari Mitchell-Western Branch-2024
Tough lead guard, capable of playing off the ball as effectively as running the show for her team. She has a tight handle, explosive first step and can finish through contact. Comari scores on 3 levels with deep range on her 3pt shot. She has the athleticism and strength to be a lock down defender.
Yasmine Brown-Kings Fork-2022
Yasmine plays fast and hard the entire game. She beats others down the court for easy layups, hustles to loose balls to create extra possessions for her team. She applies pressure defensively, harassing opposing ball handlers, creating turnovers. Has a reliable jump shot, but is most effective slashing through the lane finishing at the rim. Her constant movement on offense makes her difficult to guard.
