Plays unselfish basketball, finds her teammates at the perfect time. Nice stroke from behind the arc, and her moves in the lane get her to the charity stripe often- she capitalizes from there! Great body control, can score with multiple defenders on her.
Chaneya Garner- 5’4, 2023, Thomas Worthington H.S.: I was really impressed with Garner’s ability to create a fast pace game! Whether it be on transition, or setting up half court, she has a motor that is hard to keep up with! Strong handles, has a great sense for knowing when to drive to the basket, and when to dish off to teammates. Pretty hesitation moves! She’s a creator, and scorer!
Layla Merriweather Layla Merriweather 5'6" | CG Olentangy Berlin | 2024 OH – 5’6, 2024, Olentangy Berlin H.S.: (Below) Love her explosive defense, how she has active hands and ready to pick pockets and passes. She runs the floor well on transition and finishes. Can hit the outside shot, definitely not afraid to crash the boards, and shows patience.
Zennia Thomas Zennia Thomas 6'2" | PF Warrensville Heights | 2022 State OH – 6’2, 2022, Brush H.S.: With Thomas’ size and strength, it is very easy to notice all the positives she brings to the team! She fights for rebounds, and covers/ protects the lane very well defensively. She has strong hands- ready to catch the basketball, and do damage from the block. Footwork is solid. She’s fun to watch!
Taryn Cornett Taryn Cornett 5'10" | PF Reynoldsburg | 2023 State OH – 5’10, 2023, Reynoldsburg H.S.: Cornett has grown so much as a player over AAU season, as well as throughout the fall. I love how she muscles her way inside, and it shows with how she rebounds, as well as taking the ball with authority to the basket. She’s not phased by any contact! Moves well without the basketball, sets nice pick and rolls that lead to buckets! (Featured Photo)
